Looky what I just found on Absolute Anime:
Character Description: InuYasha's Age
There is some controversy about how old InuYasha is. First off, it is known that he was pinned to the tree for 50 years, but he was basically in suspended animation for this time. So any age given should indicate whether or not that 50 years is included, otherwise it could be unclear and cause even more confusion that already exists.
Now, for how old he actually is. Apparently, in an issue of the magazine Anime Insider, it was stated that InuYasha was 68 years old including the time he was sealed away, so that would make him 18 years old (plus 50 years in stasis). And then in the third movie it apparently states that InuYasha's dad, InuTaisho, died 200 years ago on the day InuYasha was born (which includes the time he was pinned to the tree), which would make him about 200 years old, or 150 years old plus 50 years pinned to the tree.
There is also a rumor that Rumiko Takahashi, creator of InuYasha, had said InuYasha was 16 years old, and another rumor that she said he was 17 years old. I haven't found anywhere or anybody to confirm this, but even if it is true, she could have been referring to his mental age, and not his physical age. Since he's half demon, he most likely ages differently that humans. Then someone also mentioned that an all-exclusive member's newsletter from Takahashi's anime studio listed InuYasha as being 252 years old.
Another individual, who also receives an official members-only newsletter from Takahashi, says that InuYasha's age is listed as being 17 years old, and 250 in demon years. This doesn't make much sense to me, and I think it's actually supposed to be the other way around, with him living 250 human years but physically being the age of a 17 year old boy. Like dog years. A dog who has lived for 4 human years would be 29 in dog years, meaning it would be equivent in age to a 29 year old human. Make sense? And we still don't know if that age includes the time he was pinned to the tree.
So now you can see why there is so much controvery on the subject. I think I would have to go with what's stated in the third movie, because something being specified in the actual anime should take precendence over any other official publications, such as website, newsletters, and magazines, except when the offical publication specifically addresses a statement that's made in the anime. So InuYasha's age is 200 years old including the time pinned to the tree, or 150 years old not including the time pinned to the tree.

I read an interview with Rumiko Takahashi and she said that at the begining of the series, he was 15, but as the story goes on, at the point of where it was at then (about 20 chapters previous of where it's at now in the manga) he's 17. That's not counting the tree time obviously. The spell doesn't make him age, so all he basically did was sleep through time, almost like time traveling, and waking up later on to find everything he knew had either died or became old.. > >Tenshi K. That makes a lot of sense. When someone is in suspended animation then they don't age and so what ever age they are when they wake up is what they were when they fell asleep.
As for the question, the original name of the Backlash Wave: uh... I had it a second ago. I think it starts with a 'B'. Good grief. I think I'll let someone else try for this one.
(Horseradish, of all things. With everything Kagome worked so hard to prepare, that's what he liked best. No wonder she was ticked.)

It really does makes sense when you think about it doesn't it? Like one of those time capusles, they freeze you until your date.Brigid wrote:That makes a lot of sense. About the horseradish thing: Whenever you guys post the easiest question in the world, :
..... I will punish you with a hard one.Super Shanko wrote:Is Inuyasha left or right handed?
Another thing to think about:
Do you think someone or somthing could've messed with him while on the tree? ex: Demons trying to eat him, people trying to unseal him and use his power for their own, bugs trying to somehow infect him, animals marking him as territory(that would be funny to see, he does look red like a fire hiehdrant), poor humans trying to steal his clothes, etc, etc, etc.
or
getting sick from rain, having his body burn in the sun(possibly even a sunburn, lol), twister/tornado, forest fire, etc, etc
Those are almost the ways you can torture Inuyasha while he was/is asleep.

Basically his body was put into a frozen state more than suspended animation. Like all life functions and everything else just stopped, and was reborn when kagome took out the arrow. He was basically dead. Futher more demoms wouldnt come near inuyasha because of the arrow, the seal was the last of kikiyos power so that energy could only be unsealed by kikiyo herself, since there were no life functions no bug, virus, or anything would be able to effect him. Since ppl were afraid of demons most ppl thought inuyasha was sleeping, only to awake when someone fucked with him. Although the marking territory would of been funny.Another thing to think about:

That makes alot of sense, but there are some real badass demons, like for instance, i doubt Sesshoumaru would be bothered by Kikyo's power, he could've easily taken the black pearl from his eye while he was out, or just kill him, and i wouldn't put it pass me to think some kids threw rocks at him at least once.
Life is but a dream.....So what happens when you wake up?

Yunacat wrote:What is the original title of "Backlash Wave" and what does it really mean? (there's a few variations of the translation, so don't worry about being 100% exact, just so long as you get the main part..)
Hint #1: The original word begins with the letter B.
Hint #2: The translation can be found in the 3rd movie.
