The manga is still running? (Happy days are here again...)
Man, wish there was a place like that around here.

A lot of animes that are run in the wee hours of the night/morning, are usually animes that companies think that don't get enough viewers or it's a re-run of the entire series. The first time i watched Yu Yu Hakusho was the Poltergeist Report, and then i got hooked, tried surfing for the anime on all the channels that i had and none of them had it....bummer reallyT_T
But then, i found a place where you can get the entire anime on disc....except it's in Japanese *sigh*.......anyways, back to the point.....^^;
I think that's what they did to Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball, Code Lyoko, Tactics and some other anime.....cause those are old, and companies don't want to waste time broadcasting episodes they think no one's going to watch......and when they do....it's probably a filler, to occupy the gap where nothing's on.....at least that's my take on why Yu Yu Hakusho is being broadcasted at 3 in the morning^^; .... yare yare

Probably. It's a major bummer when they do that, particularly when they haven't even managed to get through the series once before pulling that. Like what they did to Case Closed, bopping it from one time to another without telling anyone when it'd be on next. grrrrr

Yeah, there are like A LOT of volumes to the Naruto series. But i haven't really counted ^^;
I agree with you, Brigid, and on top of that, it's not only the animes that get bumped, other shows get bumped or cancelled for very weird reasons. Like the show Black Sash ( i know, only anime, indulge me^^) it was cancelled....why?? i will never know *sighs* ..... It's not fair. Cause there are viewers who want to watch the animes that have been bumped or stuff....their depriving us of Yu Yu Hakusho....EVIL
*ahem* yare yare desu ne ^^;

I hate it when television people do that. Making up their own minds without asking anyone else and doing whatever they want with it, whether it is cutting it off or turning it to another time. That bugs me especially, when the series is just about to end and you go the next day exciting to see the finale and it's not there.

I know what you mean...it's like they do it purposefully so you don't get to see the end of the anime, leaving you to wonder what the finale is. I mean, companies wouldn't cut the finale of one of the other TV series they have on broadcast, why do they do it to an anime????
Seriously, how many times have companies decided to just cut the darn episodes cause it wasn't getting enough viewers to watch their channel?!?!?!?!
Where i am, TV studios actually give replays of ENTIRE anime seasons....usually at times when kids are at school though T_T like at 3:30 in the afternoon....and then on Saturdays in the morning and at midnight, you get to watch episodes of past animes. ^_^....
But it still doesn't excuse certain companies from cutting them out completely. In the end, what's most important is number of viewers and the amount of moola a certain series can bring in....and not what the public want. Sometimes, if it creates enough uproar, then maybe representatives will try to ease the public with something....but then, who would go to such lengths???? *sigh*

Also, for anybody who is/was reading my YYH fic, FAC.net is moving all fics and art with "questionable content" to another, affiliated, site. Check the FAC homepage for details.

US......
Shadowninjagirl, I agree that we can do something to persuade those who are in charge of the entertainment that is broadcasted worldwide. Maybe we can do a petition, to prove to the representatives that there still are a lot of people who would like to continue watching the series of the anime being broadcasted at normal air times. But, we would probably have to make a pretty LONG one to actually convince them that animes are still welcome ^^;
I have a friend who was going to petitino to YTV, complaining to them about taking Sailor Moon of the air. She was pretty keen on doing it, but i don't know if she really did carry out her plan......or if she did, i don't know about it^^;
By the way, nice to see you shadowninjagirl ^_^ It's been a while
