also not to be off topic but it is true I like InuYasha and I'm a girl and I know some girls that prefere it over some shows like MMP,magical. I also like DBZ,which is supposed to be targeted to boys too.prettysoldiersailormoon wrote:they just don't realize how many girls watch all the other shows that are supposed to be more geared towards boys.
You know what?....I think that the 4kids people know this....I bet they're just confused on what to do and what's going on.....with ratings, and complaints, and shows,dubbing,.....but hey, that's the dub world for ya.
I never thought that there would be the day...when this this sig would be upgraded.

Well, if they left it as Tokyo Mew Mew they'd be admitting that the show actually took place in Japan which is something they try to leave out of most dubs. So how are they going to get away with the last episodes of them fighting on the Tokyo Tower? They just won't mention the name of the building. I love DBZ too. It was my third anime. 4kids needs to open their eyes. I read an article on Yugioh, I think, 2 years ago in the TV Guide and they were going on about boys 11-16 and how they love the show and that's who the show was for and blah, blah, blah! Why couldn't they have mentioned the, may I remind you, large percentage of female fans out there? Or at least had a picture of a female fan? I'm ranting, sorry. I can't wait until MMP comes back on. 4kids should get the idea with all the complaints they must get.

That doesn't mean I'm mad at you. Yes, they are similar. Yes my stupid local newspaper did a review of the manga and said if you liked Sailor Moon you'd like this. And this is not directed at you, this is just my two cents. Sailor Moon has 200 episodes, 3 movies. a 10 year musical and a live action show. Even if Tokyo Mew Mew is really that popular it still would never achieve that. I like TMM but it just seems there isn't much character development or growth. I've only seen the English dub but I've seen summaries of all the episodes. I know there are only 52 (I believe) episodes but a lot of other shows can tell a story in like 13 episodes and have character development and growth. And sometimes TMM episodes have like 25 minutes of storyline and then the last 5 minutes are for defeating the monster of the day. I know the last 5-10 epiosdes are all about defeating the enemy, but in some episodes the monster of the day has nothing to do with the storyline. Most of them do but some of the monsters are so weird. There's something else. Monster development. It scares me that those monsters are so easily defeated. I know it isn't far to compare animes to each other, but Sailor Moon and TMM are slightly similar similar but are so totally different.devilmaykickass wrote:I saw a segment that used it in the latest DDR project and had never heard of/seen anything from it prior. I couldn't believe what I was seeing, as it was so uncannily similar to Sailor Moon. o__O

I really don't mind the series, but...
...I wish they stuck with the original names. Other than that, I do like the series and the manga on equal terms.

For anyone who cares, likes the English version, and lives in the US, Mew Mew Power is coming back on Dec 24! ^_^ I'm so happy. A lot of people complain that they should've left the names. To people who had never read the manga or seen the original or people who didn't know, the name thing would've been lost on them. It took me awhile to understand. It took me awhile to find out that ichigo means strawberry. Ok I haven't read the manga or seen the original version but if Ichigo is strawberry, and there's Mint, Lettuce and Pudding...then what the hell does Zakuro mean? That's the purple one's Japanese name. It would seem out of place if it didn't mean some kind of food.
