here is a AIR + Kanon version of Smash Brothers - http://forum.digitalpanic.net/index.php?showtopic=8837
Kanna is way overpowered though, just stand on the spot and use her explosive feathers. Though Ayu's Taiyaki blast is fun =)))

Episode 8....hehehe, I told ya it'll happen!

Here are the main points that happened:
Mishio Amano gets introduced (voiced by the awesomeness of Maaya Sakamoto), and she told Yuuichi not to get too close towards Makoto as it'll only lead to despair.

She also mentioned that Makoto is not human. According to her, a miracle happened which allowed Makoto to take human shape just to meet him. In order for this to happen, she had to sacrifice her memory and her life.

Which means, later on Makoto will.......

Also note the fact how more clumsy Makoto has become.
Hehehe, man this is getting to be more fun!

yea I remembered in this episode that she was breifly in the first show for the same purpose as this epiosde. I hope she gets more screen time in this one also.

Episode 9......
Emotions are seriously running high here. Makoto's condition is seriously worsening as she began to regress backwards to an almost child-like state. Amano pretty much briefed Yuuichi about the fox legend that resides on the hill. Yuuichi figured out that Makoto is that fox and also the same fox he took care off in the past.
Dammit! I don't know if I'll be able to handle the next episode! That BGM in the next episode preview didn't make it better.

This episode (#9) was one of the few episodes to put me on the verge of tears.

It was VERY sad and I'm not looking for what happens next episode, what ever it is will be sadder then episode 09 was.

If anyone wants some kleenex, let me know. I've got a hole pallet of them coming in tuesday.

Personally, I never really liked Matoko. Sure her antics give me a chuckel, but aside from that... meh. I doubt I'll turn on the waterworks. Maybe a little unnerved, but no tears.

Just finished episode 10 and OMG *tears*
At the end when Makoto lost her veil was pretty sad. And then when they were playing with her bell and then she.... it was too sad.

I didn't understand the ending though.

I guess when asked what he would do if he could grant a miraical was what the last scene was of Makoto and her cat.

Did anyone else notice that Makoto said she wished Spring could last forever and then when they got to the hill there was no snow and it was green out. Everywhere else on the walk to the hill and all over the city there was a lot of snow and it suddenly disapeared when they got to the hill. I guess that was part of her wish, for it to be spring forever.

Spoiler-GARD wrote:While sad, it's not overwhelming, given that the past few episodes have been building towards this, so it's certainly not unexpected, unlike some other series' character exits.

I sort of liked Makoto after a while. Initially, I really didn't like her, but she grew on me once she stopped being utterly contrarian (and after I got over what happened to poor Piro). I'm sad to see her go.

The last scene of her sleeping on the hill in spring or summer with Piro was an excellent touch, I think.

Next episode looks like we get more snippets of Ayu's story and start in on Mai's. I believe KyoAni is going to use Ayu's story as the finale (as they should), and are going to slowly advance it while handling the other girls' stories in a sequential form, like they did Air.
I'm glad I've already started saving to buy the R2s of this series, as it's a definite winner already, even if they bork the rest of the series, which is insanely unlikely.
