Yeah Elfen lied does have a lot of subtleties within it and every thing seems to happen for a reason and ties into each other
If you want a series to be longer just write fanfiction!(but don't make anyone read it)

He noticed before me that when Lucy changes to Nyu she becomes shorter, and when Nyu becomes Lucy she becomes taller. Well, when they hug each other, not only does Lucy make the hand symbol but she also becomes shorter! It's as though she and Nyu have merged and are no longer distinguishable
. I dunno, maybe this helps explain the ending.
Umm... she's standing on a step lower than Kohta in the last episode. In the episode where Lucy speaks to Kohta for the first time since the train(after the rain storm with Yuka) she's taller because she's standing one step aboove Kohta. You can't tell if she grew or shrunk because she changes back while kneeling on the ground.
Sorry if I'm a little late...

I dunno I've heard the manga's storyline goes crazy after the anime ends.

manga = demented

The drawing was awful, the plot was weak and littered with unnecessary actions and events, and the ending was more just *blarf*

the anime however, one of my favourites. It was ended succinctly and well, only part that was a little bit unbelievable was:
last disc spoiler wrote:Kohta forgave Lucy a bit too easily for murdering his family. In the manga he was still angry with her, but considering the length of Elfen Lied they couldn't drag out Kohta's forgiveness, so i guess in the end it was done as best it could be

The manga is bloody, unrelenting, and very raw. Each page if not each panel is designed to force you to feel something, be it horror, rage, pity, etc. It's art and it goes about the business without stopping, although sometimes it's unsuccessful.

I agree that more art detail should have been included. It would've made the manga more compelling, if not only for the aesthetics appeal.

I finished watching Elfen Lied and well, it feels the same as the time I finished watching the NGE movie conclusion. The emotions are all running high, but behind it, everything is so sad. It's depressing.

While watching the ep13, I had to keep telling myself that I'm being emotionally manipulated, but it's hard to not feel anything or for that fact, to control them.

I wanted a good story and I got a good story. Thank you Lynn Okamoto and Mamoru Kanbe.

BY YOUR POWERS COMBINED I AM THE-UBER-ANIME-OF-THE-YEAR, APPEALING TO AS MANY DIFFERENT PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE ON ACCOUNT OF BEING COMPILED FROM DIFFERENT LIKABLE FEATURES OF AS MANY-GENRES-AS-POSSIBLE!

Yeah. That's pretty much what EL is for me. A cheaply stitched Frankenstein monster, whose sole purpose is to be liked by anime fans from all around the spectre realizing massive profits for it's makers, using cheap tactics like that.

With all that said I liked Elfen Lied, so go figure

Oh, xexyzl if you still need the MP3 you can get it off [Site name removed] in their anime music downloads.

Yay, my preorder for the new box set finally arrived. Such a good price for the whole series too. Suggested retail is $49.99 but a lot of places are selling it for around $30.
