Episode 10 was fantastic....

...not because it didn't give off an uber depressing ending, but it gave off a bittersweet yet hopeful ending. I especially loved that "wedding" scene in which the very end had Makoto simply vanish. The final scene which represents Yuuichi's wish was a nice touch as well.

as for how Kyoani handled it, I'm satisfied. somewhat different than how I expected, but I still liked it.

Kyoto Animation did something in episode 11 which they pretty much blew it on Air TV, and that's

...making the characters not forget that Makoto left. In Air TV, once their character arc is done with, they're pretty much never seen and heard of again. Nonetheless, I guess it's good that Yuuichi, Nayuki, and Akiko didn't dive into complete depression and went on with their lives.

Anyways, I have to say the comedy here was really hilarious, and there were so many scenes that were total wins. But here's a brief rundown:

- Ayu and Nayuki has finally met face to face, and Ayu is sleeping over their place.

- Mai is getting a pretty bad reputation in school so Yuuichi decided to take her to a formal school dance and make her more "girly".

- Hmmm, I'm getting a weird feeling there's a connection between Shiori and Kaori. Kaori was acting pretty cranky around Yuuichi at that one scene.

- Looks like those demons are starting to take some shape.

So next episode is THIS!!!

I like how Kyo-ani are interweiving hints on the various girl's stories before they actually get to them in this one, instead of concentrating specifically on one at a time. They've always been good with attention to detail like that.

Episode 12....

...well, what do you know! It seems like Kaori and Shori are indeed related, but Kaori denies it. And there are more chibi flashbacks with Yuuichi and Ayu.

Now comes the UBER AWESOME MOMENT!!!

I was really excited about the ballroom scene between Yuuichi and Mai, but I never imagined anything like this!

The dance scene was gorgeous, just gorgeous. You really need to see this for yourself! And then when Mai's reputation seemed to become rather good again, those demons appeared and attack the people and knocked out Sayuri. And that's when Mai went berserk. The fight scene with Mai was freakin' awesome though that male class rep. was a total jerk for blaming everything on her!

Oh yeah, Mai's dress....sword.....*drools profusely*

cutest girl in Kanon now goes from Ayu to Mai and Ayu x Yuuichi now = Mai x Yuuichi =D

That dance scene was indeed gorgeous, and perfect for a part of an AMV I am planning that I had no idea what to put there till now ;p

Quite of bit of stuff happened in episode 13.

- Kitagawa saves the day when he helped bail out Mai from the clutches of the student council! Is it just me, or the student council room suspiciously looks like the club room for the SOS-brigade?

- Shiori seemed to confirm that Kaori is her sister. Though she did try to lie her way out of it.

- Yuuichi seems to be practicing with a kendo sword so he can assist Mai in her demon slaying.

- I heard this was not in the game, but Yuuichi actually brought Ayu along in hope that Mai can give out any clues about her. Mai did mention that Ayu was stronger than her because she was able to wait. Oooo, what could that mean?

- Sayuri invited Yuuichi to choose Mai's birthday present. She reluctently chose a big-ass, giant anteater doll.

- Mai and Yuuichi teamed up to fight the demons that invade the school!

Of course, Mai did all the killing though she did mention the demons were after Yuuichi.

And now.....

KAWAII OVERLOAD!!!! *squeels*

Episode 14.....son of a bitch, that was fu**ing INTENSE!

First of all, Sayuri told Yuuichi her past story of how she used to be a big sister before her little brother died. At first she really gave him a tough love treatment, but really she felt guilty of doing it.

Now, there seems to be plans for Mai birthday at Sayuri's place at night. So when she wondered where everyone went, she decided to go to the school. Yuuichi realized this and hurried back, but it was too late. The demons seriously wounded Sayuri, and Mai just collapsed. After leaving Sayuri in the hospital, Mai went completely berserk and slashed anything around her. And then Yuuichi restrained her when she's about to commit suicide. Yuuichi said to her that action would be pointless and that they should concentrate finishing off the remaining demons.

KyoAni's version of Mai's story arc is going far deeper than Toei's especially with the fact we know a lot more about Sayuri. And it looks like next episode, we'll see more of Mai's past. HOORAY FOR MAI!!!
