I REALLY hate how they gave sanji a lollipop when he smokes, (like how they call, snoker "chaser" its freakin GAY!!

Just wondering if anyone has seen the speical were the characters are in a feudal time I saw the trailer(which I thought was cool) and just want to know if its worth getting the DVD.

Well... then japanese 8-12 year old are much more mature. This definitely wouldn't be kids show here because of the amount of blood, violence and swearing... and because of the sexual themes (=fanservice).
Most fans are older than that. Like with Naruto which is also shonen series.

No that wasn't sarcasm. LOL...that's just the way I write...sorry for the confusion.

As for the smoking thing, I don't like it much either. When I first saw smoker's mouth without cigars...I was like

And why did they have to change his name? Wasn't the whole point of calling him smoker because he could produce smoke due to the smoke gum gum fruit he ate?

Yes but we all know making references to ciggarettes in a Kids show is bad. That was sarcasm ^^; I also hate how they changed the names of Luffy's attacks to remove the references to guns. I mean... what's the point?

flippin a' man you guys can sure rant, if you wanted the purity of the series just go to the manga, that way, you'll be ahead of the anime and you can get the basic storyline and everything all rolled into one package. Now i heard that some of you guys have read some too, but the one that i read is <groups> and <groups> the first one is chapters 1-292 and v-2 is 293 and on, and as for the anime, i'll have to agree that the japanese version is best with just the subtitles along the bottom. That way you get the original voice actors and you don't get any of that gay censorship. And another thing...whats with all the 4kids bashing, i thought that this thread was there to discuss the series and best sources for it. Geeze, no wonder that you guys all sound confused. Just go to wikipedia.com if you have any questions about the series or minor details tho, its pretty good about that. ...lesse...yup, thats about it... cya for now, i'll answer any questions as soon as i can... bloody slow computer...

I just watched the morning tv today and One Piece was back on again. Except this time, they started when the gang has landed on the land of ice and is where the reindeer resides. The last time it was on tv...I believe it only got up to when they officially made Nami one of their own (when Luffy defeated the shark looking dude...Arlong). They missed a lot in between...no wonder other friends of mine, who watch dubs, don't get it. Confusing...

No, they've shown pretty much all the eps(minus the girl that can talk to dragons thing I think..) between Nami and Chopper. So they weren't missing much in between that could make it confusing. Unless it's just a problem in your area
