Wait! i read at many places his body height(without shoes and hair) is around 4'6, now unless the girls are freakishly tall im sadly mistaken.

My mother is almost the same. Anything that isn't a history based story, she just can't seem to follow the plot. (She just doesn't seem to find anything that isn't historical to be interesting.)

So very annoying.

Although, it's not as bad and as embarrassing as what my mum did in a movie theatre before...now that definitely was...embarrassing...anyway, have any of you actually screamed at an end of a scene before? I screamed 'NNNOOOO!!!' when Hughes died...apparently I startled my mother...she was like, 'what's wrong?!?'

You know, I was just thinking... if Ed is 5'6", wouldn't that make Roy and most of the other adults nearly 7' tall?

I never noticed....*runs off to check other characters heights*

considering that people over the ages have gotten taller generation by generation.....we're looking at 8 footers here.....

Yeah, she was cool with it...my mum watched that episode with me again and she cried, like river flowing down her eyes. And, here I thought I was bad.

Yeah, when I was watching, I was like, he sounds averagely tall so why is everyone calling him a shorty?

Ed's official height (before Conquerer) is 5'5". The problem is, he's already 16! For a guy, being 16 and 5'5" IS short. Winry is average to tall for a girls; she's about 5'7".

Keep in mind that most of the characters, if not all, are Germanic or Swedish, which means they are TALL. Mustang stands close to six foot (5'10" is I remember right), and he's shorter than most of the people under his command. Hawkeye, for instance, is taller than Winry, and stands nearly at eye level with Mustang... 5'9", that's pretty big for a girl.

Alphonse and Armstrong both stand somewhere between 6'6" and 7'. Ed looks like he's half of Al's height usually, but notice that he's almost always slouching when he is. When ed stands straight up, he's almost to Al's shoulder. Ed is short, yeah, but not FOUR-six.

But still, when you compare Ed to everyone else, especially considering his heritage and ethnicity, he IS short. Danny Devito short.

It's also Arakawa and BONES poking fun at themselves. Keep in mind that, in Japan, the average height for grown men is 5'5". They're basically making fun of the fact that they themselves are short, especially when compared to Germans and Swedes.

Wow. That clears things up a lot. I guess everyone else looks so much taller than Ed usually because Ed is usually either sitting or in a chibified fit of rage around them. Particularly with Mustang.

when i see it i cant really see why Ed complains so much now, Mustang should really be the one with the height complex.
