Based on the small clips of the English dub, I have to say it sounds pretty promising. I need to hear more of Wendee Lee's voice of Haruhi a bit more; that's going to take a bit used to.
Crispin Freeman's Kyon has damn good potential as Kyon; the bit where he's naming off the days of Haruhi's changing hairstyles had me laughing!
Stephanie Sheh's voice for Mikuru is a good fit as expected. I didn't hear too much of Johnny Yong Bosch's voice for Itsuki and Michelle Ruff's voice for Yuki to make a firm impression.

I think I'm gonna need to either longer clips or a full episode, before I can judge.
+ We all knew Ms. Sheh was the perfect match for Mikiru.

Mikuru = perfect (I don't care if you already knew that)
Kyon = great...still think that Chris Patton could've done it, but I'm not complaining
Itsuki = good, not as carefree as I'd hoped...but I like his voice
Yuki = great so far
Haruhi is my only uncertainty...Wendee Lee's voice sounds too mature (should be a bit higher pitched) and not quite enough spunk. Hopefully a longer clip will give me a better idea/second opinion

I agree with Crispin Freeman as Kyon voice, I was totally cracking up in that scene where he was naming off the days for Haruhi's hairstyle. Stephanie Sheh also had a decidedly solid performance, as you guys have noted. Didn't hear enough of Yuki or Itsuki. I guess Itsuki's OK from the little that we heard; Yuki only said her name, so can't judge her too well. Wendee Lee as Haruhi, my opinion wavers depending on the scene presented so far. Maybe it was the fact that they were taken totally out of context, but I wasn't particularly impressed with some of her lines. Although I did like what I heard in that scene with the computer club and Mikuru. I was impressed with the exuberant enthusiasm present in her voice, but the fact that she's still very different from Hirano Aya will take some getting used to.
I also think it was amusing how the female reviewers were wearing yellow Haruhi-style hair ribbons.

ah yea, sounds promising from what i've heard, though I'm unsure on Haruhi's voice just like everyone else ;p I'll have to hear more. In the end I'd likely still watch it in Japanese since that sounds most natural to me, and i'm used to it. but for the sake of those that prefer dubs, this is looking very promising. I'd like to see it air on TV, like on adult swim or something.
