I's read about 5 chapters of the manga before watching episode 1, and jeez, they literally zoomed through like 4 chapters in just an episode!
Regardless, the animation is purty, the VAing is great, and its Sakamichi so I'm pretty much sold from episode 1 for its adaptation. Looking forward to episode 2!

It's sad because Shining Hearts has more posts than this...
Seriously guys, a huge echo for kxs, this is one of the best shows the season has to offer. Best one imho is Space Brothers, hands down. Runner ups along with Apollon are Lupin and Tsuritama for me. There are other nice shows that are worth following, though, this is one good season, once in a while.

Agree with KxS and mirkosp, one of the best of this season so far. Maybe the ¨description¨ of this anime is not something wich call the atention, but give it a oportunity! you dont regret it

oh my! How could have I missed out on this one for so long? I mean piano, jazz and above all pretty realistic story as well as unique animation. Yeah it's like kain says.. it needs more attention
Thank you guys for giving this one attention
This comment made my day but actually yeah.. I thought it would be either gay or cheesy so I avoided itmirkosp wrote:It's not gay, I swear!

Re: Sakamichi no Apollon ─ Kids on the Slope
Well, it's possibly the biggest problem this show has. They can't seem to show a simple friendship between males without dropping fake hints for fangirls to squee over. It's possibly just a tactic to sell it to the fujoshi fanbase, but it bothers me somewhat, even though it's not actually gay.
Still, it overall is a very good show despite that one thing, hence why I recommend it.
Worst case I'll just poke fun at the fact and make an AMV to it using the "Ambiguously Gay Duo" opening.

I spent last night listening to Sakamichi's OST. It's absolutely brilliant~
I've got the anime on hold while I finish reading the manga, so once I'm done that I'll get back to this.
I'm really excited to see Chapter 23 animated. REALLY EXCITED.

Isn't Yoko Kanno composing for this anime?
This is another one of the animes that looked really interesting in the previews. I love music focused animes, and this one looks awesome. Definitely going to start watching this!
