How does Saitou survive? @_____@ It seems impossible. And wasn't that dude who was tearing the basement of the building apart suppose to die too? That Anji guy couldn't possibly go all the way over there, get the dude, then get all the way out in time. Did Anji help Saitou? I hate it when anime's don't tell us this kind of thing. Well, sense all of us really don't know((unless it explains it later in the series)) I guess I'm just asking for your theories. *shrugs*

They don't explain it later in the series, and if I recall correctly, Saito never even shows up again. My theory:

The fact that Saitoh survives doesn't make any sense but ur gonna have to deal with it. Are you guys serious about Saitoh not being in Kenshin after the whole Shishio thing? That sux cause I think Saitoh is damn cool.

I don't recall seeing him again, but it's been about a year since I watched the series.

The thing is, though, after the end of that arc the anime completely deviates from the manga (or so I've heard--haven't read the manga yet). So although he doesn't show up any more in the anime, they could explain everything in the manga...

It's one of those things where super-badass characters are in situations where they couldn't possibly survive, but since they are so badass, you know they somehow live. Deus ex badass!

No, Saitou never does return in Rurouni Kenshin. In the manga, he does make a appearence in the Jinchu Arc and helps fight with Kenshin.

its true that anji prolly couldnt get out nearly in time . ive came up with only one thought . maybe soujiro helped him out : / i dunno lol

I missed a few episodes of it so I didn't quite see all what was going on.
