The End of Evangelion AKA 25 & 26 [Spoilers]

So i watched End of Evangelion not too long ago. My question is, what exactly happened in the end? What happens to Asuka and Shinji?

Are they the last humans left? The next Adam and Eve? Is it the reality that Shinji picked? Or did they just land on an area separated from other people?

Too many questions...

What do you guys think?

The ending was purposedly open to interpretation.

I personally believe what happened is that Shinji gave humans a choice whether or not to stay in the LCL, though you don't actually see it happen.

the comon idea, is that everyone turned into the LCL due to the anti-AT feidl that was produced. Only those wanting to return to "human" form did. as far as we know, Shinji and Asuka are the only ones. I too had the thought of them being "Adam and Eve" but thats assuming there was no one else.

I think that there are still humans left, not only Asuka and Shinji. But actually I have asked myself the same questions as you, and I don't really know what happened.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that the AT Fields were restored as described in this explanatory thing I found on the internet. But what I was wondering was... WTF are they gonna do with the dead Mass Pro. EVAs??

Who knows now?

IIRC, that was the running joke throughout Evangelion, actually -- when all the Angels are disabled or destroyed, everyone complained how much time and money it was to dismantle one Angel. Now they have 13 dead EVAs and one big ex-Angelic Rei to deal with. (No wonder no one wants to go back to being human -- just look at all the mess to clean up.

in an earlier episode, shinji was abosorbed by unit 01. and he came back. so thats what happened to shinnji and asuka at the end. but i thought it was wierd that shinji started to chock her. what did asuka say to him. i cant make it out. i played it a few times.

Asuka said "no" to Shinji. Since Shinji wants to be everything that was mentioned, not being ignored, not being abandoned, and not being killed...He pretty much busts a vein and goes crazy.

Ok here some new stuff i picked up.

Apparently Asuka is a mixture of Rei, Misato, and herself. If you notice, her banadages represent the ones the others had, and her eyes are brown. Though, that makes it more confusing for me...

cuz now i have no idea who the hell she is.

Heres a question from myself...after Shinji chokes Asuka on the shore...did he go back to spanking da monkey?
(I'm assuming this is him realizing that he has to feel pain...though it still seems a lil...well...)

interesting theory about asuka being parts of all three. im going to have to check that out, cuz i missed it.

if shinji went back to spanking the monkey, it would be the end of the world! so the fate of the world was in " his hands" get it. hee hee
