I actually found some answers to the meanings behind the show thanks to the Wikipedia. Here are some pages that will give you the insights:

*SPOILER WARNING - THESE LINKS WILL RUIN ALL THE SURPRISE!*

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paranoia_Agent

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Characters ... noia_Agent

The basic meaning of the show was
a social commentary on how you shouldn't lie and make up excuses for everything. Lil' Slugger (Shonen Bat) became the universal excuse and released everyone from their problems by swinging his bad SHAPED LIKE A DOG'S LEG!
In the episode, Happy Family Planning
You will note that they have no shadows after the building collapses. The man from the train also has no shadow. Why would they have no shadows? ;)
The clues and meanings behind everything if you pay attention to the series is simply amazing.

For those who haven't seen the show or are thinking of jumping in on cartoon network. You cannot jump in half way and expect to be able to follow the story line. Much like the shows dragonball z, ghost in the shell, and full metal alchemist, this show has a very vivid and soild story line that can really only be followed from the begining to the end. If you jump in somewhere in the middle then you will be lost on what is happening and what has happened. Dragonball z is not as notorious for that but ghost in the shell and full metal are.

I loved it, loved the social commentary and psychology in it, and just loved the overall weirdness and wtf-ness of it. After each episode, I would think I had it all figured out too, only to be thrown off by the next episode. It's definitely worth watching if you like to think (a lot) while being entertained.
