It's actually because of the condition the animals are kept in before they are killed, not after. And that bucket of chicken was actually "mock chicken" that was given out at the protests to show there was an alternative that could be eaten.

The chickens are kept in fairly decent conditions. At least the ones our facility kills. I wouldn't call it a 5 star chicken hotel or anything, but meh.

Don't feel sorry for the black dude; he's Ken Hutcherson, a grade-A asshole. He want to a school on MLK day and talked about tolerance, and then threatened to sue the school when one of the teachers asked why he wasn't tolerant of homosexuals.
