lots and lots of work

I've put more than a hundred hours into that picture, no doubt. I made it using POVray:

http://www.povray.org

My POVray work is a joke compared to what some others do, but making a fully-posable mech is no small feat. POVray just isn't designed for that sort of thing. Most of that time I spent was getting the joints to rotate on the correct points and that sort of thing.

I made it for a game called VGA Planets 4.0. A play-by-email space conquest game:

http://www.vgaplanets.com

One of the neatest things about the game is that people like me are allowed to make our own playable races. The artwork takes the most time. I actually made that mech for somebody else's race idea, but he rejected it (the bum!). So now all that time is wasted.

Thanks to all here who complimented my work. It's really uplifting. I was a bit down after getting rejected.

Anime music videos aren't my forte. Yet, that is. I do have plans to make some, but as you can see I'm busy with other hobbies at the moment (POVray, VGAPlanets, D&D, homemade board games, a large pile of unwatched anime DVDs, ...). When it comes to hobbying, I take after my dad. So since I haven't gotten into the AMV scene, I haven't been to the site much, and the forums even less. I'm generally not one to speak up much on forums anyways.

Of course my dad points out stuff from the forums to me every time I see him. And when he mentioned he uploaded some of my prototype pictures, I had to take a look.

Maybe I'll stop by to post a real picture when I finish the bazooka and sword-and-shield equipment for my mech.

Wow, this is interesting. Never would have expected a screencaps topic in an anime music video site. Then again, I never was very logical. Lol. Well, the Z.O.E. pics were cool! And Sazabi. Where'd you get that pic from darkshadow2020?
