If this does come to pass, I'd like to preemptively request the Rescue of Prince Herbert with Advent Children, if that's ok.

To begin, basically, once you're ready, you can alter the first post of this thread and put up a list of the final requirements (apsect ratio, codecs, audio, etc) and all that lovely logistical stuff, the list of tracks with who's doing them and with what, deadlines, etc. Also put the links to the different tracks once you get them up. (probably not much need to have the entire mix up, since people can just pop the movie in for that. And I think most people who would sign up for this would know the movie pretty well.) Then people will know that they can offically sign up for tracks. Then just add them as they sign up. (And maybe once things get going, you can mark off who's turned in betas, who's done, etc.) This is also a good thread with advice for people running MEPs. Well, hope this does end up happening. It should be fun.

Well I'm not 100% sure if it's a good idea to have to use ALL of the audio, because doing complete scenes my not be entirely possible. I had an amv-hell-style idea for a part of a particular scene, but stretching it out to use the full audio in the scene may be a bit of a challenge. If there's any chance of cutting out even parts of the audio you provide that might go a long way. Basically I'm thinking it may be too ambitious, but then sometimes things that are too ambtious pan out just they way they are idended to despite everything.
So either way I think I'll give it a go and sign up regardless. I have ideas for two scenes actually.

Okay, maybe it's just me....but...

I wouldn't sit and watch this. Not only is it the ENTIRE movie, but using different animes....that would just be weird. I mean, one moment the Knights of Nii are the azumanga kids, and next thing it's the Naruto characters..I dunno. o.O It'd be way to random.....and usually random is a good thing. I like the idea of doing the songs though and then some sound clips from the movie...but the entire thing would just not be....I dunno. Regardless....I'll sign up anyways...just to see where and how far this MEP goes...if it falls into place.

I got the website set up, in about 24 hours from now, ill have the domain pointed to the server IP, ill have the FTP set up by that time (knock on wood) and hopefully ill have the audio ready.

I agree and this one of my major concerns along with the likelyhood of drastically different lip-sync quality between segments (since it's a movie with a lot of dialogue, there should be proper lip-syncing) and not everyone can do lip-syncing properly. But it could still work out and I'm willing to do my part(s) and we'll see how it turns out.

i was thinking about that in research methods lab class today (im a bad kitty, i should have been listening to the TA) although there is alot of dialog should we do the AMV signature TV static from switching of the scenes or stick to straight movie?

Yeah, I agree. Just let itself fall into place. I can try my best with lip-syncing, and it will mean those long hours in vegas. :/ But with the proper techniques/masking and creativeness, this could turn out to be pretty fun.
Still, I wouldn't mind an official character set up....

Um...I wouldn't go with the amv hell style, since amv hell 4 is set to come out later this year...I'd go straight through the movie, trying to capture the way the movie plays through it as best we can....

By static, you mean the AMV Hell static? If we're going that route we could make our own appropriate transition between scenes and have everyone tack onto the end of each clip a character yelling "Get on with it" before moving to the next segment
