Please refrain from name-calling as well. It indicates your true mental age. Furthermore, if someone had started a Linkin Park MEP, you wouldn't have asked about the content because it's a given that everyone knows who the band is. Vocaloids may not be overly popular, but they do have a large following, so don't blame the OP for not going into more depth on a matter that s/he probably assumed was a fairly well-known concept. If that doesn't do it for you, then consider this: most people who join a MEP are already familiar with the concept or music. Again, the Linkin Park example: people who don't like or don't know the band aren't likely to join the project. Thus, if everyone joining is a fan of the band, what explanation is required?

The fact is, you're rude, it's unnecessary, and I can prove time and time again why you should take your own advice and "lay the fuck off."

I admit that i'm, by default, an ass for some reason, but still.. In this case he coulda given more info as to whether or not he was gonna have a certain concept or at least like.. linked to vocaloid info, You can't tell me that Vocaloid is so well known that it's basically common knowledge. I also admit that maybe before being an ass I coulda looked up what exactly vocaloid was, and now that I have I actually think this would be a pretty cool project potentially, so good luck to you if you even get this off the ground.

Hello all

Um I think a few of you guys need to calm down. Ok First off im a he(I know the name does not really say what gender I am). Second thing is what Vocaloid is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vocaloid. And now for the tech aspect of the MEP...the truth is I dont have any experience running a MEP never mind the fact that I have yet to make and post an AMV in the last 10 years. All im good at is running a AMV segment a a con. As far as songs that have been made using this program well there are no less than 30 good one and about 5 great ones and thats just using Hatsune's voice. My main issue with running a MEP is that the only thing I would be good for is judging vids to see what would be good or not to use, I lack all tech knowledge of the hole process So if someone want me to run it and someone wants to be my tech advisor then thats cool. I could then set up tracks and deadlines. But ya most of the tracks would prolly be up beat or techno type songs. Ok...ok

From here:
Wikipedia wrote:Vocaloid is a singing synthesizer application software developed by the Yamaha Corporation that enables users to synthesize singing by just typing in lyrics and melody.
See Hatsune Miku sings the ending theme of Keroro Gunsou - "Kurutto Mawatte Ikkaiten".

I pick that one 'cuz it's probably my favorite. ^_^

Also, just because the song seemed to become a fad on the tube for a while, see Hatsune Miku sings "Levan Polka".

Somehow I find it rather hypnotizing. @_@

But yea, that's pretty much what Vocaloid lets you do.

EDIT: For the record, there are Vocaloids other than Hatsune Miku. There's like 7 or so that I know about.
... yea ...

I just found out about vocaloid yesterday and have been having some fun with it, making Miku sing some naughty things.
I don't really see how an mep would really get very far though... I mean what would the concept be? All the fan videos put the focus on Miku. Would it make any sense to just throw some random anime on them?

As much as I have been hooked on Vocaloid stuff, I also wouldn't be sure if an mep would work too well. It sounds like a neat idea (no pun intended), but I find that a lot of people that watch or listen to Vocaloid video/audio enjoy it because they know what Miku parodied and not too much on the visuals. That, and the visuals usually that are put with vocaloid videos are usually a still frame or show the parodied anime/game (meaning the viewers don't care too much). But that's where this mep may be different and maybe come up with something really interesting.

Also, it might be important to say which type of Vocaloid parody songs you are planning to use:

actual sound parody

or

just voice parody

or both? o.o
