I'm all over this like a fat kid eating a cupcake. And I think a full mep in 60 fps would look stunning. ![Thumbs up :up:](./images/smilies/icon_local_up.gif)

Re: X Ghosts - Interested?
What do you define as eye candy?To quote your original post: "Not really effects needed". I got the impression the entire point isn't eye candy. If I got that wrong, then I withdraw my interest.
I want the tracks to be interesting. You can appeal this with designs and effects or an interesting story line. I for myself will most likely try to achieve this with playing around in effects. I would prefer tracks where the effects make sense and are good. Uhm I would call Koop's Twilight as interesting. It might not be perfect, but it really got my interest. I just wanted to know what happens next.
What I would like to avoid are tracks that threw the shiny effects in your face when they don't really give the concept in the track anything. ...and if the point of the track are effects well than let them be atmospharical, not chessy and some sort of original.
Thx for pointing out. I will work this definition more out.
I won't make it 23.976 or 29.97 because I made bad experiences with dropped frames lately. I will make round framerates like 24, 25 or 30.Still,I'd be nice if u could make it 24fps or 23.976,60 is just ;_;
Well I think people can make their tracks 60fps or 30fps if they won't too. I can compose the MEP in a 60fps encode than the 60 tracks will get their advantage and the 30s won't. I think doubled frames without frame blending won't visualy efffect it. I think that could work, but I better test it though. Would this be pleasent for you all? In the end we can still drop the 60fps thing if no track gets a benefit of it. lol
I think this is a good idea, because everybody can choose the sort of framerate he wants for his track. The idea of mixing framerates in one video because of estetic reasons makes me excited.
@Dar: Haha. You're welcome =)

Re: X Ghosts - Interested?
I don't think the idea that one precludes the other is really valid, well done effects can accentuate a video with substance, and in some cases well designed effects can be the basis of substance. Color alterations, footage alteration and such should be valid no matter how down to earth the video is supposed to be.godix wrote:To quote your original post: "Not really effects needed". This isn't Ayumix after all, hopefully this will actually be entertaining.Bauzi wrote:What I can say (my personal experience) is that you notice 60fps only if you tweak with velocity settings of your clips and custom effects with motion.
I.e. I got the impression you're just avoiding needlessly self-serving 4th wall breaking effects.
As for 60fps, it would work if you could provide a reliable way for creating interpolated frames, but I don't have or know how to use twixtor or it equivilants, I'm sure most people don't either, and I feel if we don't take it all the way it'll just be a gimmick.

I think Twixtor is a good idea. It gives the whole 60fps thingy a way better reason to be part of the MEP. I better give a look to it and write a quick tutorial/explanation for those who want to use it.Vivaldi wrote: As for 60fps, it would work if you could provide a reliable way for creating interpolated frames, but I don't have or know how to use twixtor or it equivilants, I'm sure most people don't either, and I feel if we don't take it all the way it'll just be a gimmick.

As I understand it's pretty tough to get scenes that don't come out deformed.Bauzi wrote:I think Twixtor is a good idea. It gives the whole 60fps thingy a way better reason to be part of the MEP. You also can't forget people who use vegas or somesuch, is there any kind of avisynth plugin that can do this?

Re: X Ghosts - Interested?
For me it wouldn't be a shame if some people hand in usual 30fps tracks. That's totaly fine, but some viewers won't get the reasons why the tracks are as they are, why the MEP overall is in 60fps and 60fps might seam really gimmiky.
) with a 23.98 fps project. The speed up worked pretty good (although I can't say what's a good or a bad speed up). All the speeded up clips looked way more smooth. The viewing experience was totaly different. It almost felt unreal
Does anybody know the difference between Twixtor and Premiere/After Effects/Vegas interpolating frames?
I just got an idea for my track. It's with 29 Ghost IV and 60fps might get handy and good looking. I better test the look first though.![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
Oh I forgot to mention:
A song can only picked once, but you're allowed to hand in multiple tracks (one, two, three... or so). Of course you can also work together with other editors
Oh and it does it really good! I tested it one year ago (boah... Mac should really release his vid. It's already from 2007 I thinkVegas can go up to 60fps

I found out a good way to check out the whole album. Throw it into iTunes or any other player of your choice and do something else while listening to it. I played Tower Defenese (Gemcraft - Chapter Zero). There is a good chance that a song instantly catch you with an idea. That's what happened to me
