will widescreen 640x360 be allowed? I ask cuz i've set my video editing software up for widescreen and HD as default

Is it imperative that all submissions be in one of those three formats? My software really only deals with avi.

Xvid uses AVI... :/
Or you could do quant 1 divx. The point is to keep the video source high quality.

Is there a limit to the number of total submission a single user can make?
