Re: AMV Salad 6...now open!

All right, I've not been able to get started as fast as I wanted to, and unfortunately it looks like this year I'm going to end up being a dick again and working up until the submission date -_- Sorry to say, but this year's even worse with the earlier submission.

I have some good news at least:

davidkrein.net/BiWinTest.rar

All sync isn't complete, but I finally got all the clips I wanted in and the timing close enough that I'll be able to finish in a couple hours. Let me know what you think.

Honestly, while I was making this, I felt I should ask what you guys thought about this clip's viability as a potential intro. For some reason fading in to the first part of this made me think it could work, kind of like how the quick opening to Lelouche with the Dr Geass intro ended up working pretty well. And the ending has an echo that could have the title fade in, potentially. Or we could just do a different title. Basically this would be more like AMVS4 with the intro clip, then title, then continue rather than AMVS5's integrated intro.

In terms of the tossed salad idea Bonehimer posted, I like the concept, but don't particularly like the audio picks. The first one just lacked any context to make it particularly funny right off the bat, and the second one was just plain annoying, sorry to say. If we could find something that was more ironic and innocent relating to tossing salad, it could work, but it's also so specific I find it hard to believe we could find anything like that.

Anyway, now that FFXIII-2 is Platinumed, I plan to work hard on getting my clips done, but I don't know if I can make that many this year at this rate. Here's hoping. Captpan6 has two that will be quite good, but I need to update the footage from Youtube to 720x480. Minor adjustment, but annoying.

Speaking of which, does anyone have DVD footage of Star Wars New Hope where the Death Star blows up the planet? Preferably the older explosion, but it doesn't really matter. I just need that footage if anyone has the ability to grab it for me please. It will save me a bunch of time and the money for purchasing it for one small scene.

The lip sync in the beginning could stand improvement, as could the "shut up." When he holds up a picture at 0:37 it would be nice to either see a picture of Sheen or a picture of Stein in his hand. Not sure if the last clip is meant to be there.... Other than that looks good.

I wrote below it that the sync isn't complete, but you deduced exactly what I was going to do with the medicine ^^ I posted it kind of to show I didn't disappear. It'll take some time to find the right sheen picture I think, but I'm finishing up sync now, even though I need to be asleep... and no, there was a tiny frame of maka and soul that was randomly there and I already removed it.

I hope I can at least get a good 3 minutes of footage this year. Hopefully more, but I promised myself I'd do a clip this year in remembrance of Patrice O'neal. It's a clip I originally came up with during AMVS3, and now he's gone... so yeah, I really want to commemorate him.

Hey, long time viewer, first time contributor. Actually got a few items lined up right now. Might end up putting them in a small bundle reel and sending them directly in as soon as this weekend. Crossing my fingers that they're up to quality.

Deuce, we have to get started making the Otakon version of Re-heated. Like I mentioned before there are several clips that should probably be moved around to make room for laugh breaks, and now we can add in a good 10 more minutes of some of the best work from the others. And maybe even include stuff from AMVS5 if we'd like.

But we need to get rolling on that now so that as we get all the clips in for 6, then the editing can begin. If we wait, we'll miss a golden opportunity!

You all have always been welcome to suggest these things for ReHeated.
I've been waiting on everyone else.
Never mind being burned out over the turbulent ride that was Katsucon.
But yeah...new material for AMVS6 and suggestions for ReHeated are needed so as soon as you all are ready (like, say, last week :P )...

Deuce, I don't think anyone but you or I knew it was confirmed officially, and you never mentioned you were ready for it.

Anyway, everyone, we have about 10 extra minutes for Re-Heated that Scott has allowed for us. So we can get in some of the clips we nixed if we want to, and also choose some more. So if you have any desired clips you'd like in that were an audience hit, now's the time to bring them up.

I'm off to work today, so I'll do my best to look through when I get off today. But the big question is whether or not everyone thinks we should include AMVS5 stuff as well, or keep Reheated more of a 'classic' one.

I say we keep a year buffer in between the current project and ReHeated.
We can think about updating it with scenes from AMVS5 after we premiere AMVS6 at Otakon.
For now, we should work on tweaking ReHeated and *ahem* submitting for this year's Salad. ;)

In that case, that makes things simpler. I ran into some time problems, so let me get started on finding clips and making suggestions for clip moves in a bit since tomorrow is my day off.

Right off the bat though, the ending has to be changed since AMVS5 isn't part of it of course. Should be changed to something about more fanparodies coming up (assuming we're first <.<) I'd like to see Rap Chop and Clannad clips added back in if at all possible. I realized that my Clannad one was too early in AMVS4, and it showed up right after Rubber Ducky, so everyone was very mellowed and it kind of just jumps into a parody clip without and buildup. I'll try to find a place that'll work for it.

Your 'smoke' clips are a bit out of order I think, and you're missing the one where it kind of cycles through colors and then he says 'smoke' like he's on helium. I always liked that one, so I think we should add it in.

Plus now we can get the rest of the Geico Money clips in. And I honestly believe we need to arrange them correctly again. They were strongest in their AMVS4 order. I think we have to get the Azumanga and Haruhi ones back in there so it regains its flow.

There were a couple more I think could be added as well, I'll take another look tonight. I'm working on my second clip, it's being a tough one.

Aaaaand I was called in to work... kay, give me a bit more time to consider what rearranging might work.

For now though, on top of the ones I suggested above, I think we can consider these for adding:

AMVS1 -
Shiny Teeth (I honestly really just like this one a lot)

AMVS2 -
I'll be Watching You
Davie Crockette with Ouran
and Simpsons Death Note

AMVS3 -
Black Butler
Gurren Lagann - On A Boat
Excel Saga - Bleed and Puke

AMVS4-
If it doesn't make it too long, I liked the South Park with Gravitation one quite a bit.
EDIT: Oh yes, and if possible, the second part of the Haruhi clip

Anyone have any other thoughts?
