sigh...school in 2 days..... Waaaaaaaaahhhh !!
Resistance is futile, human. :P Just do it if you have an idea. You aren't eligible to "win" this "round," but youyr submission might be thrown onto the compilation anyway.

Also, people, remember if yuo have a clip you don't know what to do with or probably will never finish and you still want to do something with, feel free to send that at any time. It doesn't have to go along with any themes we have running. This is a collaboration, after all.

One week until the next theme is announced. Maru-sha: I still need a sound source from you...

Schools in session

Post by Dezbo21 » Fri Aug 25, 2006 2:16 pm

Oh, GOD!
The anticipation is keeeeeeeeling me!

Any change of the sound souirce on Sunday morning?
(wink...wink....nudge.....nudge.)

Just messing around. :P

Trying to liven things up around here....

Oh that's right, for many of you school starts on Monday.

All the more reason for a Sunday morning announcement! Some people need that time to edit before they continue on with their education.......

Man, I don't miss school, but I have to admit the time was worth it, without it, I couldn't have got the job that helped me buy this wonderful computer that I use to participate in this contest and make AMVs on in general.

Listen up kids! The first rule to becoming a great AMV editor:

Stay in school, or was it something about practicing, or something.

Anyway, good luck on Monday, and I'm lookking forward to the next round.
And I thought nobody read these.

Jayn_newell:...I got your entry. ;)

Maru-sha:...still need a sound source if I am to make an announcement Sunday morning for the next "round."

Only have two entries for this one. As much as I dislike there not being a decisive "winner," I may have to call another "tie." Come on, kids! I know this one was kinda tough, but you never know what the "judges" will like (especially since we discovered and have been watching a lot of Shin-chan recently).

Just two more days...

Thought I'd point something out.

Zarxax, the original editor of AMV HEll wrote a long rant about what makes a hell clip. In it he said that they weren't always funny sometimes they were just random and outrageous, and I agree. You can make some without trying to be funny. The "I want a new drug" segment wasn't that funny, and something that makes someone go "WTF?" can work out well.

Never look at a sound source and say "I can't think of anything funny." The idea came from the fact that one small portion of a song/sound source seemed to fit something, but nothing else would have worked for a whole video.

These were put together in the original AMV HEll. So, don't think just becaus e your idea isn't funny that it won't get picked. The hell concept is about randomness, not just humor.

Am I right deuceloosely? Or are you going for a completely comedic position?

Desbo21: ...t-h-a-a-a-a-a-a-t's right. I think I outlined it somewhere in the initial post. If not, then keep in mind that the emphasis is on entertainment. While I'm not so partial to the "serious" side of AMVs, you never know what will make the compilation.

Dezbo--How about I amend that to 'had a hard time of thinking of anything that didn't involve clones/twins/mass produced androids' (which I almost did anyways, but didn't feel like ripping the sources). I like to avoid the blindingly obvious.

Deuce--Tie? I just sent that in so the other clip wouldn't win by default :?

I was just using your statement as an example, not against just you. A lot of people may have been thinking along those lines without understanding what the idea of a hell clip was.

To prevent the other from winning by default? Thanks! I always prefer competition to the easy way out.

Still, I think my own idea was a bit of a stretch. :P

I hope at least one more enters by tomorrow. I really would like a full on competition this round.

Me too :P Besides, I wanted to make you look good. Not that my clip is deliberately bad, I just didn't put much effort into it.
