6 minutes isn't that much. :(
You can expect a few more clips from me.. well, one or two at any rate.
I have a funny commercial I would like to see in salad, but I have -no- clue which anime I should use for this. So I'm wondering if anyone wants to do this one? http://www.y outube.com/watch?v=S8rN0o2mVHE&fmt=18 (I HATE censorship)
If anyone wishes for a higher quality sound, I can make a rip for you.

I like the theme for next time. I've written a couple of idea's down already so that I can get started as soon as everything is specified. Were you inspired by one of the clips i sent in? :P
Expect me next time too. If I miss the topic, you can e-mail me, because i'd definitely don't want to miss it.

Hey there, InspZenigata here!

I made the AMV Salad showing at Katsucon, made for a good hour! :)
Unfortunately I've been bogged down with college work and computer troubles (over the Xmas holiday) so I've not had a chance to work on clips.

Things will hopefully settle down a bit and I can slowly make progress (before rushing everything at the last second after I go home in May  ).

I gotta catch up on this thread... did I miss anything vital?

Nah, nothing major has happened which can't be seen in the previous entries. We definitely need material, as there is less than ten minutes' worth of clips and theme video on deck (though more theme stuff would be appreciated ;)). The deadline is within the first week of May, or so I estimate. It depends on the Otakon fan-produced video / parody submission cutoff (which hasn't been made official yet). I'll keep everyone updated as I find out...

I thought of another idea last night, and went to work right away. :D I'll send it your way soon, deuceloosely. Good news it's a commercial!

From what I can see from the Otakon web site, the AMV contest / parodies aren't even a thought yet. I'm beginning to wonder how they plan on giving people enough time to submit entries, never mind being able to hold the screenings and finalist voting before July.

The announcement should come very soon if they're smart about it.

Can you tell I'm a bit anxious to set a definite post-production date?

I need to get some more stuff for you, although Uni has been a real killer on my free time lately. That, and the SCA related stuff I've been doing, it's just taking up every bit of time. And the freelance computer repair I've been doing to afford new guitar equipment.

I'll reinstall Vegas soon, do you have any specific commercial requests when I've got it back? I don't have a repository of commercial audio (excepting GTA IV commercials), and if I had some ideas it would make it a bit easier. I suppose a Watchmen movie trailer could be fun though...

*hears crickets*

Just so you know, this project is the main reason I'm trying to put a rush on replacing this hard drive. ;)

Still have heard nothing on Otakon's end about video submission dates. Also, still no word on the AMV contest. This is surprising considering Otakon is less than four months away (which is a nanosecond in AMV editor time :P).

Anyway, come to Panel 3 next Saturday night (April 4) for AMV Salad 2 if you happen to be attending TekkoshoCon VII (Pittsburgh). You can also catch the screening of the Salads ("AMV After Hours Appetizers") Friday night April 3 at 11:pm in the AMV theater to lead in the adult viewing schedule.

Crunch time is coming for this, the third Salad on the menu...

Ahoy, mateys.

I have news about the deadline. It looks like we'll have a bit more time to get this puppy done.

Submission deadline: May 16 @ 12:01am
Post-production begins: May 17
Beta available: June 1
Otakon submission deadline: June 7

This information will be posted on page 1 as well.

These deadlines are HARD SET - NO DEVIATIONS!

Thank you and get more clips / theme material in! ;)

In the OP you state that movie trailers are welcome also.
I've been working on the _intro_ of a movie, not a trailer. Well it turned out pretty good, actually on what source was available it turned out better than I'd hoped for.
I made this in Premiere Pro CS3, which went fine, until I needed to export.
EVERY FRIGGIN' ONE has glitches somewhere. It isn't in the sourcefiles, it's purely the export.
Even Frameserver can't solve the problem. Exporting to uncompressed avi doesn't solve the problem. It's seriously fscked up.
Well then I got CS4, but apparantly that 'better version' can't even properly read CS3-files. So all my 'beginning of clip'-markers are gone.

I managed to get a export which only has a small glitch at the end, it's basicly good enough to get a idea (almost 'final') of the clip.
The problem is that it's 1:01 long, instead of the limit :45 in the OP.
The first 15-16 seconds are more or less a kind of intro and *could* be cut off, but you would kind of fall right at the beginning of the clip. The entire minute is part of the movie though (cut the audioclip from the movie).

Now my question: can I send it in? If you rather not take in movie intro's then I'm not going to bother remaking it in CS4, otherwise it's worth the effort of getting those glitches out.

My other projects are kind of.. stalled at this time. I had one with an azumanga daioh-clip, but the original has so little lipsyncing-ability that I need to draw mouths myself. Lipsyncing in premiere is also a pain in the ass because of the imprecise way of working with frames in premiere. For my 2 others I need to find some source material. I hope I make it in a month :)

Send it anyway. I'll have a look at it and see if there's anything I can do with it on my end. We'll work something out. Sometimes the only solution available is improvisation... ;)
