Thanks Jasper, although I think I'm going to wait till we are ready to release it before I put it up.
So it seems that we have decided to put it on local as a colabaration (under all the profiles) but have we decided on the final title. Obviously the main title is Animasia, but there was some talk of the full title being Instrumentality: Animasia. Personally I would like to see "Instrumentality" connected with the video is some way. Considering the amount of collabaration I think even a studio name would be entirely appropriate if people want to do it. I must admit I am biased because I do want to tie ProjeKct Life in with this one because although it is a different format, it is being produced with much the same philosophy.
I await the release with a mixture of anticipation and curiosity. This project has been a long time in the making but I don't really know how the general AMV community will react to it. I hope they will see it for what it is, a uniqe format for music videos.

I think the idea of making "Instrumentality" a studio name is a great way to handle the "branding" aspect of all this, and to provide a tie-in opportunity for upcoming releases such as "ProjeKct Life".

Since my last post I've:
Completed the lip-sych script generation for the widescreen narratives. This is the part of the process where I run a program that analyses the narrative audio and writes scripts for selecting which of a group of images should be chosen as the video frame corresponding to that frame's audio.
Rendered two of the lip-sych video tracks for the widescreen narratives.
Finished most of the compositing for the widescreen narratives. I forgot the two videos that were moved from fullscreen to widescreen (Ararat and A Boy I Knew) when I was working on the rest, so I still have to take care of those.
Started outlining the end credits at a low level, so I can write the code for generating those as quickly as possible once I've finished with the second half of the narratives.
---
What I'll be working on next is:
1) Rendering the remainder of the lipsync video for the widescreen narratives.
2) Editing those video tracks to transition to alternate shots showing the images (on a large auditorium screen, with the speaker visible as a small figure at a podium before them), along with a few stills of the "audience" that will (I hope) give those narrative segments a greater sense of depth.
3) Coding and generating the end credits.
4) Joining the Widescreen section and generating .vob files for the DVD.
5) SUBMITTING THE PROJECT FOR DISTRIBUTION!!!!
---
I'm a little behind my intended schedule right now (landscaping work, visiting relatives, unexpected house projects...), but am still making a strong effort to maintain momentum and keep chipping away until I'm done. Most of what's left is very mundaine - running scripts and pressing buttons - and all of what is left is now stuff that I've done before, so the only variable left in the release date is the amount of truly "free" time I have at my disposal. And that, I am glad to say, is a commodity I've been seeing more of as of late.

We could just have everyone put in a few lines, if they feel like it. If you need someone to work with this on a larger scale though, I'd also be happy to helpJasper-Isis wrote:Now before you do that... will you need help writing the video info/commentary for the org's database entry?5) SUBMITTING THE PROJECT FOR DISTRIBUTION!!!!
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

I'd be happy to help with the database entry.
Speaking of which, I'm planning on doing a short radio spot for AMV radio. Is soon as I get my recording software working (grr technology ) I will post a tenitive script or maybe just give it a shot and see if you guys like it.
The question I have is: will Animasia be finished before next friday?
...please? *puppy dog eyes*

Animasia: The first Instrumentality.
Thats the Title I had on the beta DVD covers.
That gave me a great idea... I say we should setup some kindof Interview with Knives and Koop for RDS Radio when we release ;p... With all members involved. Would everyone be able to come on with skype if we could set it up?Otohiko wrote:If it's out, then I'm calling in to talk about it, too

Skype limits conference calling to five people at once. Knives, Koop, spot for a caller, and that leaves two slots for guests.Bakadeshi wrote:That gave me a great idea... Well we don't all have to call in at the same time, if anything...
Besides, I need to make sure I have a working mike and get Skype first...
