You could divide it up and put it on Geocities, which I know has an HTTP-based uploading system (Angelfire used to, but since I got kicked from that service I don't know what they've done). Geocities doesn't accept RAR files, though, so after you divide them up, you'll have to zip each part and upload them that way. You'll want to set the file division for 3-4 megs a piece.RoninT wrote:I found Radman's low-quality copy of his Sunday Bloody Sunday clip and I got an account with Angelfire, but the only way I could find to upload it was through ftp.angelfire.com and as previously stated Port 21 (FTP) is blocked for me. Any more ideas?

I'll probably do that for the preview file which is only 14MB, but I'm trying to get in contact with some of my friends that live off-campus to see if any one of them would be willing to help me send this. About how big and in what format do you want the real thing? (I'm praying it isn't the gigabyte file version that my brother left for me)

No, not at all. That would take forever to download. The required dimensions are 720x480, and the video should be compressed with either HuffYUV or Lagarith (Lagarith is preferred since it's smaller). Make sure to use VDub's Fast Recompress Mode to do the compressing.RoninT wrote:I'll probably do that for the preview file which is only 14MB, but I'm trying to get in contact with some of my friends that live off-campus to see if any one of them would be willing to help me send this. Sorry I haven't posted in a while, my college classes are keeping me a lot busier than I thought they would. After exploring my options I think I have two that could work:
1. The only P2P program I found that wasn't blocked by my school is Filetopia. I'm on all day long so if you want I can just put it in my shared list and you can download it. If that doesn't work we can do option 2...
2. Other than that I think the easiest thing to do would be for me to skip the preview file (since the creator doesn't have access to the file anymore anyways) and just send the real thing by mail on CD. If you decide to take this option, but don't want to publicly disclose your address you can e-mail me at hen02007@byui.edu (don't worry, I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere in Idaho with no car).

Let's try Filetopia. I've got it installed, just let me have the info to be able to find you on there and I'll see if I can get it.

Update
Ok, another brother has the file shared as the user name "ldsgorilla." It will be in the "ANIMATRIX" room (couldn't seem to access the AMV room and there is hardly anyone in the Animatrix room anyways). Unfortunately that 1GB file was the huffyyuv export at the right resolution (we don't have lagarith), so what's your internet connection speed? Ours can go up to whatever your's can handle. Also what is your user name on Filetopia so that we know its you downloading and can you give us a time that you expect to start downloading?

Ryan...err, RoninT. You CAN re-export if the specs aren't to Qyot's liking. It wouldn't be a sin to reopen the premiere project or anything.
And thanks to both of you (Ronint and Qyot) for doing this for me. The next time I'd be able to get this to you would be in 2 years, and I think we all hope this project doesn't take that long to complete.

Sorry about waiting this long, I had some stuff to take care of. Anyway, I couldn't quite figure out the stuff in Filetopia (probably because I don't use chat software save for AIM, but that's just for 1-on-1 functions, not any of the rooms), so I think it might just be better to do this through regular mail (unless someone is gracious enough to send a gmail invite, but I doubt that).
If you've got the ability to burn DVDs, you can just throw all the source footage (provided it's not entire AVISynth-served episodes) and project-related files onto the disc and I can reexport it myself if need be (or you could spread it across two or three CD-Rs if DVD burning isn't available).
I'll e-mail you my address after this gets confirmed as the route being taken.

Filetopia is relatively easy, it sets itself up mostly. All you need to do after it connects is go to Channels > Anime > Anime Music Videos Dante. I'll almost always be there between 9:00AM - 10:00 PM MT time (on username "RoninT") . I check often to see if you are on. My brother "ldsgorilla" who has the file is in there about half the time but if you come in I'll walk the 10 ft distance to his computer to log him in so that you can download it. You just double-click on the name of the user whose file list you want to see for downloading.
If it doesn't work I could use WinRAR to splice the Lagarith version into two pieces for CDs (Much to my frustration I don't have a DVD-R drive yet ).
