This project could be done......but It would probably be better if it was done by one person...and it wasn't a mep.....Just because that one person would have total control over the video....so there wouldn't be all those problems of transitioning to the next editor. :/

Well....maybe if the main editor was schizophrenic....then it might work as a Mep...

While I like the idea I don't see it happening. There's really only a few ways to tackle something like this

1) Everyone does their own thing. Which would end up with the project sucking. Some would go for comedy, some for action, some for dance, and perhaps even one idiot would go for drama. Then, of course, you have a bunch of horrible transitions since quality will vary greatly from editor to editor.

2) One person controls the transtions. Require the editors start with scene X and end with scene Y then the transition guy does each one. This would have the advantage of all transitions would be basically the same quality level and coordination between editors wouldn't be a problem. The disadvantage is that with the core idea of the MEP this would turn into 'Transition MEP by one editor, with a few other people doing crap between the transitions...'

3) A non-public MEP. One person decides to start this an privately invites editors they think have the skill level to do justice to the idea. Which kinda defeats the point of mentioning the idea in the forums at all.

Personally I don't see this MEP happening. I could see an individual editor doing it all by his lonesome. I could see a small group of two or three editors working in private to do it. But a public MEP? Probably not gonna happen. If someone does start it though make sure to invite me, the idea sounds interesting.

After you went on to say how the MEP would never work, or suck beyond belief, you still throw in your business card.......XD

Rather than quoting everyone, I think I'll just respond to godix, cuz he seemed to address the main concerns that I believe everyone had.

Definitely agreed on that point. That's another reason why it would have to use a single song. It would help to keep the theme constant. Besides, if everyone did their own thing, then they may as well just do a full video on their own.
2) One person controls the transtions.
This had also occured to me, but I threw it out the window for the exact reason you gave. The whole point of the MEP is that it's a collaborative effort, and a single person doing transitions would contradict that.
3) A non-public MEP. One person decides to start this an privately invites editors they think have the skill level to do justice to the idea. Which kinda defeats the point of mentioning the idea in the forums at all.
Well, it's a little late for that, yes? ;p However, this is the option that seems to be the most plausible. It's also why I posted this as an interest gauge. I'm not familiar with who on this site is good at doing crossovers.
I could see an individual editor doing it all by his lonesome.
But if I had wanted that, I'd have gone to the Suggestions section and said "more crossover vids, plz" - or better yet, I'd have done the idea myself.
I could see a small group of two or three editors working in private to do it.
Again, this is the best idea. No more than half a dozen editors, I figure.

After reading the responses and thoughts, I agree that this probably won't work as a public MEP. However, with the number of people that seemed to be interested in seeing and doing it, it's tough for me to dismiss the idea altogether.

Again, if there is anyone who would want to head this, I would very much welcome the intervention.

Wow. That sounds like a great idea IMO. To those of you who decide to go through with this, I wish you all the best of luck. Hopefully a cross-over amv like this will give me some ideas toward my own massive cross-over amv. (The one in my sig that's gonna take me a year or more to do. lol)
My next biggest project to come...

Speaking of which, when should we upload Tardo Vs. Add Version 1 and 2? (not to mention the 7 song project we've been working on...)
