I just had a look back at the clips I have so far and here's what I've come up with:
Only about half of the people who initially entered this compilation with production tags and first round clips have continued on with contributing to this project. I must troll for more editors, even if they don't make it to TekkoshoCon.
So far (minus the opening graphics, my own production tag and clips, and closing credits), I have over 7m30s of material. There are five months until this project goes into post-production. The number of clips received has increased, however, since it's been made clear you don't "have to" follow the current theme...this is good.
However, I must make a restriction regarding video format. As much as it pains me, I must disallow the submission of WMVs due to the drastic loss of visual quality during re-encoding to MPEG2...
Here's what I propose: when I get this new editing program (the interface is very much like WMM2), which will bee soon, I will try and send you copies. It shouldn't be a big deal since 1. I'm not asking for money and 2. there may be only two of you out there turning in WMVs. All I ask is that the entries I have selected from you to be on the project be redone (content unchanged but saved as AVI or MPEG1 or 2). This is how much I want this collaboration to happen. Remember that this is going to be shown AT the convention, so quality is top priority.
...and I think that's all for the update-type thing for now. The clips are quite good so far. Our only issue is file formatting. This, we will fix.
Keep 'em coming...and I really would like to see something from the current theme eventually if not by next Sunday. Cheers!

But yes, you DO need Vegas or Adobe or something, because a thing like that just can't be done right in WMM2.
And might I suggest something for the closing credits? I have a really good song for it. And maybe one of the good creators here (Maru-sha or Dezbo21), maybe I myself, will try to work on something. Or even better. I say we should try and doing the closing credits together, though I don't know how the hell are we gonna do that

Let's not worry about the closing credits just yet. At least not until around February, when we'll be winding the project down. I'm gonna have a special challenge of some kind for that. For now,...I guess I'll be searching for more producers and clips.

Uh.... you are NOT doing it in flash. Not happening. And I told you to plan ahead on this already. Just use mpeg2. It's going to give you the best quality with guaranteed playback and will do the best work with the varying video quality that has been submitted.deuceloosely wrote:
