Re: AMV Salad 5: Happy Meal (FIRST CALL for final submission
Dude, all I can do is try.
You have to remember we're competing for space with a lot of other people who are also trying to have their (new) projects shown.
It's an improbability given the size and scope of this event.
AMVS3 is 24 minutes and 4 is 22.
That's a lot of air time to be given to one project.
I'd say the odds for getting even 4 shown again during regular programming are heavily against it happening.

All I'm asking is for you to try. And keep in mind, Scott isn't getting a lot of new stuff this year, and better than new, is GOOD. In every instance, I can promise that people would rather see good stuff they've seen before than something new and bad. And I'll Skype Scott right now and tell him that directly if I need to ^^Deuce Loosely wrote:Dude, all I can do is try.

Don't worry, just go for the panel and at least one re-showing. All you can do is ask, and the worst they can do is say no. If they say no, nothing lost, if they say yes, we get to see AMVS4 in a room double the size with audio that doesn't suck donkey balls
And krvabo you may be in luck, the prudishness for swearing has become lax. Scott has managed to get it official that the fanparodies are between the two extremes of 'family friendly' and 'porn.' He's having it advertised all over as not being for children so swearing is allowed legally, and we're finally getting a page in the Otakon booklet, so swearing isn't a problem anymore, but uncle fucker may be too specific, since it's already epic even coming from Terrance and Phillip. But "Not your friend, buddy!" could actually work if you choose the right characters and footage.

Hey, Deuce, what's our credit song looking like this year? Do you have any ideas? Off the top of my head, I can't think of what clips would work for the credits from our current batch. And plus last year I hit a stroke of luck with the dual Haruhi clips working in conjunction to keep people around. I think we've gotta consider how to pull that off again. If we end up making the explosions work, we can make that do something I guess. Not too sure.
I'm working on the intro as fast as I can, but cutting out characters is going to take a LONG time, I've managed to cut out... half of one character clip ^^ Granted it's the Dai Gurren from the third intro and it had some effects as well, so this one was an extra bitch, but it's getting faster as I get used to it.
I do have some backup plans at least to make it faster, but what type of timeframe am I looking at? Do we know if I can do adjustments to it past the due date?

In terms of time I wanna try for no more than 2m30s.
If people miss anything in the credits they'll just have to download it.
I'm looking for an appropriate song but this one is kinda tough.
Maybe an "outtake reel" running through it?
I know a lot of movies have them on bonus discs or as a special feature if anyone wants to rip the audio sources?

Re: AMV Salad 5: Happy Meal (FIRST CALL for final submission
I didn't like those choices much at all. First isn't melodic at all, and the other was a complete downer. We obviously can't get something too upbeat just to interrupt it constantly, or we'll just piss everyone off, but we can't make it so slow that we may as well tell them to leave. If you don't have anything planned like last year, then there are a couple choices, find something classic rock, or change the production name to match something. Happy Meal doesn't necessarily mean much as far as I can see anyway (plus it doesn't quite fit the progression of titles ^^). The TV Dinner song was perfect in that it had points to cut in and wasn't so up beat that the cut-ins annoyed everyone by cutting off the music. It wasn't a particularly great song, so it worked well as background that kept everyone's attention.
I'll keep my ears open and check my music collection for something that could potentially work as well. Something may pop out as a good potential.

Any chance you can link the past amv salads in your banner sigs so they're easier to find?

There's a list of links, first link is to the most recent one, AMV Salad 4, down to the first production which was actually called AMV Hell 3.14. I personally have only taken part in the last two, as is obvious in my sig of course.

Re: AMV Salad 5: Happy Meal (FIRST CALL for final submission
I found a song about salad, I'll send you the link in a pm on facebook when I get home, my thunbs are too big to try and copy the URL on my phone to paste it with out it taking me 30 minutes to do lol. It's nothing special really but could be used for future projects.
If we are going to do a blooper reel I have a blooper from stargate sg1 I've done with full metal panic, I think it's rather commicL and will render it into something smaller and send it your way when I get home as well. But if we cut away and do the blooper clips like we did the reading email ones in amvs4 that would work better than doing it actual movie style I think because that way people wont confuse those with the production tags. (bloopers are normally -all the ones I've seen-run along next to the credits which is why I say cut away to them)
