... I don't get it :?

Personally i'm trying to make my video look like a bad acid trip, so i can appreciate effects being used in a way that actually looks cool ...unlike mine : /. There's a reason i haven't released another beta >.>; lol
There isn't anything wrong with the effect, but i don't really get how your going to use it ... and to save you from death by masking, try using a chroma on white for the clips, that should look fine and save you a few hours. Remember, chroma is your friend :P

NO YOU DON`T.

Bad acid trip... interessting. Ah yeah the fade out: YOU DON`T!
Two possibilities:
1. Bauzi the vector mask bitch makes his damn work as coordinator.
2. RGBA video. Maybe if you fade it out to nothing and set the colourspace of your codec to RGBA (I recommend Lagarith. It´s easy to change), you save tranperency. Please try it first with a short clip if it worked.
You work with Vegas? Fine! The tracks are already set to Source Alpha by default. A test shouldn´t be difficult.

K... Maybe you give us first a small beta of the outro and we discuss what to do. Chroma Keying might work, who knows? Depends on the situation.

Thx for all the feedback!
Looks cool, but in what way would that be hard to apply to a clip?
The scene has:
-1 spotlight (the whole thing is a rick. It´s made in a 3D space, but you only see 2D. The spotlight just gives me advantages at light settings)
-4 layers
-1 blending mode
-2 vector masks
-12 effects(brightness/contrast, Saphire Glow, blur, luminanz key)

The most problem will be the luminanz key. Because of the hard colours I can´t be sure how good it might work to key out the colours.

Yeah and that´s just the basic background for the rest...

Woah, all of those effects were in that? It just looked like a dual layer chroma with some glow/contrast effects and grid to me : /

Adobe is so complicated -_-;

PS: I have no idea what you were saying in the first post ... :?

PS: I have no idea what you were saying in the first post ...
Alright. What we need for your transition is a different colour space. We need RGBA.
Most looseless codecs work as default on RGB or YV12. The "A" stands for nothing and it´s the transperency.
Example:
Image
Around the bunny is Alpha. You can do the same with videos. In additional Alpha saves how much transparent a source is (50%, 35%)... It´s awesome.

So you should not fade your transition out to a white colour that we can key it out with chromakey. You should fade it out to "nothing". Nothing is just nothing in the timeline.
Go to export and save your clip in a looseless codec with colourspace RGBA. I recommend Lagarith, because it´s good and easy to change.

You can test your own clip in your Vegas timeline. Because a default track setting in Vegas should recognize the Alpha channel in the clip and should blend it out without any keying effects.

Small summary: It´s like a photoshop layer with transparency just as a video.
Another example (test this picture in your timeline; RGBA videos are the same. It´s an effect from Particle Illusions):

What I want from you is a looseless RGBA from your fade out for tests if it really works.

Yeah I just were a bit nitpicky with the whole settings. Nearly the same solution is possible with just 2 layers.

*test*
Why does AE still doesn´t support my RGBA? I know it did it >_> Yeah at least it works with .png
