hooked on advent children

Post by princess myu » Fri Sep 01, 2006 5:07 pm

First I’d like to say I learned my lesson from my last one

And most of these rules are from my sister's contest, only tailored to this MEP's needs. And she okays it. You can tell it's hers by the qoute marks

When making megea 5, 8, 9, 12, hooked on advent children, and in the hall of the angel of death I noticed that advent children went very well with classic music so I started this mep

What is it?

A compilation of advent children to classic music

What Song Should I Use?

Anything classic you don’t have to use the whole song but you do need to use at lest 30 seconds of it. One song per video total of 3 vids must put 3 hours of edit in it not just Radom AC to classic music

Cut-off Date: decmber 1

Sound Quality:

"I request that the sound quality be as crisp as a new dollar bill, i.e. CD quality. After all, the sound puts “Music” in “Music Video.” If one sucks, they may as well both suck. Have the volume at a decent level. I don’t need it blaring in my ears, but I don’t want it so low only a flea can hear it. If I have to turn it up or down, the sound quality might be in jeopardy. For the final vid, I’m going to level out the volume, but the less I have to alter it, the less chance there is of bad sound quality."

Video Quality:

DVD quality. Go out buy the DVD and rip it if you need help this should help
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... /step1.php
"NO SUBTITLES PLEASE. I know I’m guilty of having a few subtitles on my Chobits clips, but the fact is, subs are distracting. If you don’t know how to rid of the subtitles read this http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/avtech/
And one more thing WATERMARKS! The tiny DivX watermarks tend to be bearable, but if your video has a big “TRIAL VERSION” slapped across the screen, it might as well as be as bad, if not worse than, a subtitle. If worse comes to worse, use the Windows Movie Maker (its standard on XP and newer compys)."

I will be making in-betweeners so I’ll need your avatar and a 5 second sound you’d like to go with it

Aspect Ratio:

"There may be some of you out there saying, “Asp-ah What-now?” Aspect ratio is a fancy way of saying, “Movie Screen or TV Screen?” Browse around your video editor (under things like Tools or Preferences or Options, etc.) and you’ll find something along the lines of Aspect Ratio and then choose 4:3 for TV (Full screen) or 16:9 for Movie (Wide screen)" but because it’s advent children keep it 16:9

Video Format and File Type:

"(Also under Options ^.^)
NTSC is usually the default for most of your American computers, so send it in that format.
Also, I don’t care if you’re using the Windows Movie Maker. Many people are very discriminatory about this, but don’t judge a movie by its program. A person could have great ideas and the ambition to use any combination of programs along with the WMM to create a really great video.
As for file type, basically any video file except for something like Real Media (*.rm) Quick Time (*.mov) or a Flash file (*.sfw) unless you save that Flash as an .avi"

How do I send my entry in?!

"The best ways to do it are:
to use YouSendIt, an online mailing service that allows you to send up to 100MB via email for free and it stays available for 7 days
http://www.yousendit.com/

Or to use FileFactory.com which let's you send up to 300MB if your video comes out really large. But you must copy and paste the video link into another email in order for me to download it. Click to go to FileFactory"

http://www.filefactory.com/

Send your entries to:

sailorkitty_8@hotmail.com

"In your email, tell me:
1) Your username (or what you would like to be called in the credits)
2)What song you’re using
3)And send me your avatar.

If you don’t have one, make one (80 pixels by 80 pixels). If you don’t know how, send what picture you want to be your avatar and I’ll make it for you.

RECAP!!!

the anime should be Advent Children right? so they shouldnt have to give you the name of their anime, just the title of the song... also you seem to have mixed that backwards in the "recap"

so is it Advent Children music? or Video? for your theme?

Hey,
You did pretty good with the rules this time ^_^
But wouldn't be better to make it so you can use any anime with clasical music?
I don't think a mep where everyone is using he same anime would turn out good unless it had a very long series or something
With that one movie you would probally have alot of repeated scenes >_<

She did pretty good with the rules? They're basically my rules and rewrote them for her thing. I said I was okay with it, but it's just SO close to mine, that I think it might drive people away from my Disney contest (which by the way Moonie, you were invited to and you've yet to respond  )

...So I guess I'm done complaining...face it, I just know what to say.

Good point. When Matt Pyson was running the Otakon AMV Contest, he said that he'd seen so many Akira AMVs, that when you put them all together, they ran for twice the length of the movie.
But they used half of the scenes from the movie. ;)
