I agree to some degree and I'm even in the category. It just feels a bit hollow to win and know there is a video out there that is a lot better.ashitaka_ja wrote:In my opinion, it doesn't even matter who wins in this category now because the best video isn't even in the running.
At the same time, we have to realize this is the viewer's choice and we (the collective we that is disgruntled) only make a small % of that vote and we voiced our say. Sadly more people did not.
This and another video were two of my biggest disappointments, but that's the nature of the contest.
I do hope people at least give it a viewing though...

Thanks for the support, guys.
I'm a little sad that I didn't make it into any categories into the finals, because I thought I had a chance at it this year, but I liked all of the videos that did get in the finals for the romance category, so it's not like I lost to videos that I hate or anything.
But I think a lot of people did actually download my video... it has more stars than three of the videos that made it into the finals.
This year though... I'm going to try to submit two of the vids I'm working on to Anime Expo, Otakon, AWA Expo, and AWA Pro... and people will see my videos.

I submitted "I'll Meet You" to Anime Destiny 2004, but it was a fairly new con and I don't think a lot of people went, even though it sounds like the contest was run well. It won an award there, but I don't think it upped publicity for my video that much. I could've submitted it to AWA Expo like AtomX told me to in his opinion, but I was dumb. >_<Bakadeshi wrote:I think shes just not well known enough.... I don't think she ever submits to cons, Nor has she been actively advertising her videos much, so most of the mainstream audience that don't visit these forums may not even know of her existance.

Romance category was a pleasant surprise. One of the few categories where I really had to think it over. It was a though choice between the AYA AMV and Bakadeshi's one. I ended up voting for the Accidental Love Story for its originality... being focused on secondary characters. We really need more stuff like that ^_^b
(and I think Insomnia excels in sentimental.. too bad it's not in artistic finals)
