GUI question
I know there are a few people working on a GUI for AviSynth but I was wondering whether people would use it? Would people still use the script editors or just completely abandon that method of use all together? Does any one think they would drop their NLE for it. Basically looking for reasons for and against the NLE based on AviSynth.

Different methods for different needs, I'd say. I don't use script editors, so I wouldn't fall into the segment being addressed. As for the NLE, that's a completely different demographic being targeted than AviSynth users as a whole. Having an NLE with AviSynth as a backend is certainly worth pursuing, as it would take the much-desired middle-ground between simplistic editors like WMM and iMovie and the professional level NLEs, and moreover represent F/OSS in the field.
Would I drop Premiere for it? Probably not, although it would more than likely be what I'd use under Linux, as Cinelerra isn't exactly built on the same aesthetic preferences and function-model that other NLEs are, not to mention that the format support is rather lacking (whether that will change after AviSynth 3.0 matures I don't know).
