AVIsynth not working in media player

Im totally new to this whole AVISYNTH. I've read all that I can find about it and still can't find a solution.

Basicly, the problem is I was doing the test avisynth for the guidelines (where it tells you to just make a basic colorbar + beep) but it says its not applicable for windows media player. If anyone either know the anwser or a link to where I can find out it would be appreciated. (I've have looked through the forums but couldnt find anything.)

if you are on vista the tests won't work.

What about opening your script in VirtualDub(/Mod), does that work? If not... you did install AVISynth, right?
