Forced film?

Post by honorhammer » Sun Sep 07, 2008 9:00 pm

Akira dvd is my source, and I thought it was enough % film to use Forced film in DGIndex.. but it looks like a few spots like this one have the interlace lines. Can a movie really be mostly normal and then just randomly interlaced? or am I just messing this up? is there any special method to handle this kind of interlacing?

What was the percentage? Personally, I wouldn't use the Forced Film option unless the percentage was 95% or higher - preferably 98% or 99%, if not completely Film (i.e. 100%, but it doesn't spell out 100% Film).

If it's really that bad, my suggestion would be to treat it as you would any other hybrid footage - don't use Forced Film and fall back to TFM and TDecimate instead.
