So I've done the avs thing before using the guides, and everything worked okay. Then again, that was with XP and not Vista. But I downloaded the AMVapp on my new computer and I'm trying to clean up some footage pre-production, no big deal--just want a little sharpening, some deinterlacing... right? So I'm following along in the guides and about HALF of my scripts work in avisynth. The others just don't register as real scripts. I checked the folder in the AMVapp, and the avs plugins are there, listed, but they refuse to register and turn the pretty purple that means they're working. When I try them anyway and press the nice F5 key, VDubMod says: Avisynth open failure: Script error: there is no function named "vmToon/Tdeint/etc." (G:\AMV\death note\disc 1\indexed\episodes.avs, line 4).
Am I missing something really basic? I tried re-downloading the plugins seperately, but still can't get them to register. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

It's unable to find your plugins or your not labeling the function correctly on the script... I'm guessing though that its not able to find them. If you have an amvapp folder and a seperate folder for avisynth, sometimes people have an avisynth install from amvapp and a avisynth install of their own in their programs folder (They forget and accidently install it twice... I'm guilty of this 4 or 5 years ago...) uninstall one of them and make sure your plugins are in the plugins folder of the one you didnt install.
Things like this happen when you isntall a bunch of stuff at once through one folder. AMVapp should install everything seperately with their own folders in the programs folder but it doesn't .

Fixed due to lack of edit button.Eva-Fan wrote:uninstall one of them and make sure your plugins are in the plugins folder of the one you didnt uninstall.

Are the ones that aren't loading script functions (*.AVS|*.AVSI) rather than plugins (*.DLL)? You mentioned vmToon, which made me wonder.jedi_rian wrote:So I've done the avs thing before using the guides, and everything worked okay. Then again, that was with XP and not Vista. Script functions will never show up as purple in VirtualDub(/Mod)'s script editor; you just have to deal with it. They will not autoload unless their files are named *.AVSI (as opposed to *.AVS) and they are located in your AVISynth default plugins directory.
If you have problems getting the autoload to work, then load the scripts you need manually, in such a manner as this:
Import("C:\[your AVISynth 2.5 installation directory]\plugins\vmToon-0.74.avs")
