Erm yea, does anyone have any idea why my vdub wont automatically remove subs on soft subbed ACC?

If you mean softsubbed MKV (ACC, or actually, AAC is an audio format only, not video), and are loading it through avisynth, chances are you will rather want to use ffvideosource or ffmpegsource instead of directshowsource or dss2 or whatever you are using at the moment. That should take care of it. If you are loading the mkv directly into vdub and not through avisynth, then it means it's a vfw mkv, so it's most likely hardsubbed, I think.

Because VDub doesn't 'automatically' do anything for you. You have to know how things are configured to get the outcome you want.

1) Disable ffdshow's (both VFW and DirectShow decoders') subtitle filter, if you use that.

2) Enable VSFilter's 'Prebuffer' option - that usually makes subs not render for me when using DirectShowSource.

3) Use FFmpegSource, since it doesn't load softsubs at all.

4) Otherwise, the subs are hardcoded and there's nothing you can do except crop them out or try to wrangle sub-masking tools to work (which is usually not even remotely worth the effort).

When you load up the file on virtualdub via the direct show filter and you see the green arrow towards the bottom right indicatig vsfilter has been loaded you can just right click on it then and choose no subtitles before you render or save anything with vdub.

I generally tell people to disable it too, I just simply mentioned it tends to suppress subtitle rendering in DSS because there have been too many times I've forgotten to disable it before attempting to transcode stuff, resulting in the video not getting the subs hardcoded to it. Why it's enabled by default I have no idea, especially since it screws things up so much.

Of course, I gave up on using VSFilter and switched to ffdshow's subtitle renderer a while ago. I only keep VSFilter in AviSynth's plugins folder so I can use TextSub when I need it.

When installing CCCP is disabled by default... I don't know about when installing it by itself, tho.

As long as they are softsubbed, I'm fine. Although, they get pretty heavy once you have them on a 1080p video... if there are fancy karaoke effects at 1080p, I can't keep ffdshow's deband enabled without my pc choking... on the heaviest ones I need to resort to CoreAVC.
