How do you de-interlace PAL footage?

Post by Subtle Sorrow » Mon Feb 07, 2011 5:32 am

All the guides I see about de-interlacing are all working with NTSC footage, what is the code for de-interlacing PAL footage? Specifically Hellsing if that helps.

That doesn't help because we would actually need to know how your Hellsing was converted from NTSC/FILM to PAL. Depending on how it was done, results might go from bad to awful, with increadibly rare chances of good if the company that dealt with it doesn't suck. Generally though you'll prolly will have to do tdeint() and keep the blending because there isn't much worth trying (you can try to use stuff like QTGMC+MRestore or QTGMC+SRestore, but results still aren't all that great at a quite slow script speed). If you plan to edit AMVs with a certain quality, you'll generally be forced to import DVDs from America or even Japan...

PAL DVD? HAMMER TIME!

1. Locate trashcan
2. Place DVD in said trashcan
3. Find NTSC equivalent

Quite easy really.

Wow, that sucks. I've ripped films and don't have any interlacing problems. Is it just anime/tv shows?

Generally stuff that gets converted from NTSC to PAL without speedup is quite bad, and that tends to be mostly anime, yes.
