Do you people know a decoder for a h264 avi files?

? But Divx and Xivd files are use ALOT! So the next time I'm encoding something for a editer, I sould use lossless code right?

Yes, there is truth in this.

First, you get people hooked on the idea of makng videos. Give them a "Dummies" guide with better (but not necessarily best) techniques that are newbie-friendly. When they tackle that, then they'll be ready to move on to more.

For the best quality and fewest problems, yes.
