can't install avisynth?!

Post by okitaxchizuru » Wed Dec 08, 2010 7:48 am

Everytime I try to install avisynth, it says it instailled incorrectly.
I can't never find the icon of avsynth, so I can never open avisynth. What shall i do?

There is no icon - it's installing a scripting language to your system, not a discrete executable.

What I meant to say ,was that i even with the search option on my computer, I can't find the file to open avisynth. I got only a file to uninstall avisynth. But how on earth can I uninstall when I don't have avisynth on my computer. I really don't understand that.

You don't open avisynth. Avisynth opens youEhr, I mean... You just make a text file with an .avs extension, and write code in it. That's avisynth. Yep.
Then you just open this .avs file in virtualdub or whatever and *BAM!* it's actually a video if you did write the code properly. Because avisynth is a .dll that tells programs "Hey, see that text? That's actually a video, now treat it like so."

I know that, but if I can't open avysynth, how then can I save a video as as asv file and then open in virtual dub?

You don't save videos as avs files. You open up notepad or something like that and add one of the line's in this post to it -> http://www.animemusicvideos.org/forum/v ... 9#p1357789

Once you've done that you save the file but make sure to save it as .avs instead of .txt

Then you open that file up in Vdub. You're good to go.

Avisynth kind of runs on it's own. When you load an avs file into a video program that program then opens avisynth and says, "hey, where's the video?" avisynth then says, "here it is" and serves the video to the video program. It's a common missconception that avisynth creates the files. All it does is interpret the files. You create the files yourself, or using a program like AvsPmod (in the amv app) you create them.

If there's something you still don't get, I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to Read <a href=http://www.a-m-v.org/guides/avtech31/>ErMaC & AbsoluteDestiny's Friendly AMV Guides Lovingly Overhauled Largely by Zarxrax</a>.

That's because avspmod is acting as the visual representation of the the video generated by avisynth. By itself, you can't see what avisynth is doing. You always need another program (like avspmod, virtualdub, or even media player classic) to view what avisynth is doing. Not to sound cheesy, but you could say Avisynth is the "middleman" between your footage and any program that wants to use your footage 8-)

This visual aid might help.
