Audio goes mute for a second for every few seconds.

This hasn't happened until recently. I've used various codecs like XviD, Lagarith, and HuffYuv and it still happens. Normally, I wouldn't care about this, but one video I'm planning requires the original audio.

export the original audio from virtualdub Streams->stream list-> save wav

reimport into your editing program and sync it.

Thanks but I can't exactly do that at the moment seeing as WMM is dying on me.

BTW, why does it do this when I play the original video in something like WMP?

Is the original audio variable bit rate or something?

What do you mean? The audio's regular audio. I'm just ripping the Japanese audio.
