Is there a need to clean up CGI Footage?

Post by CCChang » Thu Oct 11, 2007 2:51 pm

I got the DVD footage of Final Fantasy VII Advent Children and since it's a CGI film, I've been thinking should I really clean it up/improve the footage as all or just leave it.

I've tried sharpening and smoothing just to experiment, and there isn't really any difference in my opinoin. But apart from things like that, do you think there's anything else (such as adjusting brightness for example) I should do to it before I use VirtualDubMod to get clips for editing?

Oh, and do you know a script that crops off part of the video frame? Or should I just use VirtualDubMod to do it? There's this strange empty space on the footage on the right that I want to get rid of.

Thanks.

Use the <b>Crop</b> function. Just remember to make the last two arguments negative.

even if you don't notice anything, using a smoother will make your video easier to compress
