Shrinking a video

Hey! Okay, well, I have a Macintosh first off and I use iMovie. I know it's not advanced, but it's what I can afford. The problem is that when I make it so I can put my movie on the internet, it ends up really poor quality. The sound is weird and it's itty bitty in size -_- There's another form I can put it in for DVDs, but that's over 300 MBs and that's for a video that's only a minute and a half :/ Does anyone know a way to at least make my video decent quality, but still within a decent file size? Especially if I no longer have the original version that I made with iMovie...-_-

I don't think this is the correct place to ask, here is the right place.

Do you mean uploading it for donwload? or you upload it for steaming? If the second, it's normal that the quality lows, but if it's the first maybe it's a problem with the uploading process.

Or you're talking about the compression, if you still have the the great quality with huge size video you can compress it. I'm not sure if this helps with macintosh but here's the guide for encoding with xvid.

Yes, I am talking about exporting from the program ^^ Sorry, I wasn't sure about the term. And thank you for moving it! I wasn't sure where to put it -_- Also, thanks for the help site! But the links for downloading XviD don't work. Am I missing something?

do you still have your project/project files? or is this video already exported and you no longer have the source?

if its the former, you can easily re-export the file in a higher quality... if it's the latter then you are kinda screwed - and you will probably want to keep that file as a reference while you completely re-create the video and start from scratch.
