Do you need Media Player 6.4 for AVIsynth?

Post by falconrye » Wed Mar 26, 2008 5:05 pm

It's either that or Vista doing something, either way AVIsynth isn't working on Media Player 10. I says it cannot read the file.

Help would be much appreciated.

I couldn't find out how to edit my post and I had something to add so here I go...

Is there an ASPI Package for Vista?

It sounds like a Vista problem to me. Avs scripts work fine for me in WMP 11 (though I use classic anyway). From what I remember in that lengthy guide, the ASPI layers are needed to properly rip the DVD, so I don't know why that would affect AviSynth (but then, I don't claim to know everything about ASPI layers...I had never even heard of them before I read that guide). It does sound like Vista is just being pissy as usual, though. I might suggest trying the VLC player as well. It's just an all around better player than anything Microsoft can put out.

Sorry I can't be of any real help, but I refuse to even touch Vista. Hopefully someone who can help will wander by soon. And I'll continue to mull it over as well... :?

Oh, and for the record, you can't edit your posts on this site, so don't feel bad about that. :P
... yea ...

Nothing happens when I try to open it in VLC...

Disgruntled I am...

So close to making amvs...

I cry...

Inside...

Then make a poem...

And throw it away...

the tests don't work on vista, but AVS should still work, or so I've heard.
