Couple of script issues

Post by EternalIceStorm » Thu Apr 24, 2008 1:04 pm

Okay, just a couple of script issues I have now. I'm following the A&E guide, which I have always done since I started using premiere and .avs for editing. Up until now I've never had so many issues with .avs, and I thought they would all be fixed, but yet again, another problem reared it's ugly head.

Going back to topic, right now I'm just putting in all of the script lines I'll need so I won't have to worry about putting them in after I finished editing (and yes, I was planning on having the .avs ignore the scripts that would clean up the footage while I was editing so it wouldn't edit slow.) Anyways, the two scripts I'm having problems with right now are these two:

mfrainbow()
mftoon()

For some reason, when I try to preview my footage (which I always do) to see if it works, it says that "there is no function named <insert>". I'm not sure why it's doing this. I've used those two settings before, and they worked fine. Any idea why?

you're probably missing a plugin that mftoon/mfrainbow is trying to use

it may help if you post the full error message text

All it says is

"Script Error: there is no function named "mfrainbow" "

And that's it. It doesn't really say much else. But I did install AMVapp, so no idea what I did wrong.

check in your plugins directory, if you see mfrainbow.avs you'll need to change the file extention to .avsi (if you want avisynth to autoload it. otherwise you'll need to use import() )

vmtoon is pretty must the same as mftoon (just merged with a sharpening filter IIRC)

derainbow isn't the same as mfrainbow (but it probably runs a lot faster. mf is notorious for making slow running filters)
alternatives for rainbow removal are scintilla's DMFDeRainbow and LuteDerainbow
my favorite is tcomb (needs interlaced footage to do its thing though)
