Premiere - Edit Line stuck

Post by KenshinsongX » Tue May 15, 2007 1:32 pm

In Premiere 6 I have just started having a strange problem where the Edit Line won't move past a certain point on the timeline unless it is dragged with the mouse.

When I hit the right arrow key it doesn't move but when I hit the left it has no problem.

Then if I click somewhere else on the timeline and hit either key, it skips right back to the "magical timeline point" and won't move to the right (the point is at the end of the first clip but if I click around enough sometimes it changes which point it is stuck on).

I hope I'm providing enough info...How do I fix this and prevent it from happening again? Thanks.

sounds like that magical point on the timeline could be the end of your work area
you should be able to extend your work area

I'm using pro 1.5, so it may look a little different.

if that isn't the problem, post your project settings and a screenshot of your timeline

I encounter the same issue that you describe in premiere 6.5. I suppose its just a bug in the software.

yeh, it's not the work area (even if you move the work area to not even cover that point at all the edit line will still go back to the same point). Sometimes rebooting fixes it but it's incredibly annoying.

Just discovered that I can fix it temporarily by moving the edit line to a clip later on the timeline and increasing its length (then changing it back).
