Which Adobe Premiere?
I'm sure there are hundreds of these threads, but i gotta make my newbieness apparent, I have been looking into AMV creation for a while now and i believe i want to go with Adobe Premiere, with that being said, there are so many difrent versions im not sure which to buy, I hear alot of people say Adobe Premiere 6, im not too sure what the latest one is, or which one is most user friendly, ect, so I was just wondering which to pick up, I got enough money to blow, but not too much Adobe Premieres seem to be in my budget for the most part, so, does anyone have any suggestions on what to get? or am i just wrong in thinking adobe premiere? if so what would you recommend?

Latest is CS3... Pro 2.0, 1.5, and 1.0 came directly before that. 6.5 and 6.0 came before that and it's really all about preference - people tend to prefer what they start with.

Premiere Elements 3 is a "consumer" version of Premiere Pro. It features the same interface (mostly), but doesn't have the amount of effects or plugin support that Pro has.jackie980 wrote:I was looking at some and saw Adobe Premiere Elements 3, what is the difrence between elements and the others?
It's the easiest program to edit with in comparison to most of the editors out there -- even its own prior versions. PE 3 does have a few nice new things going for it -- much better memory management for faster rendering, better support for MPEG2 and third-party codecs (but not perfect), and MP4 export support for iPods, PSPs, etc.
The only real negative I have against it is that it still doesn't support third-party codecs well. HuffYUY exports are still screwy, Lagarith Lossless Codec seems to come out with indexing issues, and DivX/XviD direct freezes it up. Also, the MP4 codec it uses isn't widely supported by players -- even VLC had some issues with it.
It's not that it's bad, just a bit quirky.
