Importing problem
I know that there are probably other topics with similar problems as me, but I tried sifting through them and I haven't found anyone with the exact same problem as me (at least not yet). I'm using Adobe 1.5. I am able to import files that have been previously edited before, but when I try to import anime, the importing window will show up but no progress will occur. The files I'm trying to import are avi files. I know that they're not good for editing, but I need to import them anyhow. If someone can help me out, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Well,but there IS a problem now,and you'll have to find some way around it.. You could use FourCC changer and just change it all to DivX instead of XviD - then you wouldn't have any problems with importing! BUT - your software would work slow as hell with it.. So I guess the only way around it is using Lossless codecs... Believe me,I've assured myself with that not too long ago..l2urouni wrote:yea they're divx/xvid but i didn't have this problem before. it just started happening when i had to format my computer and reinstalled 1.5.

hey, question: how do you convert divx to a lossless codec like lagarith? i have avisynth but i have no idea how to use that, and the guide the original head hunter posted is a little over my head. i used virtualdub and saved the file as an avi..and that worked, but i couldnt specify a codec for it so I dont even know what happened. Plus, he converted episode is now 30 gb, which is far too large (i think). I also downloaded eo-video or w/e which is supposed to convert for you as mentioned in that article below, but i dont know how to use that either.
any help would be appreciated!

you should just be able to open the file with virtualdub/mod and go to video-compression and select lagarith from the list then click save
lossless = big file (not as big as uncompressed...but still big)
it's generally reccommended that you only encode small clips when using lossless codecs to avoid having lots of 30GB episodes.

then go to file->save
use those to mark the beginning and the end of the "clips" you want so you can save room
