Title effects

Post by Toshiyan » Sun Aug 26, 2007 12:24 am

I'm wanting two words to go across the screen in opposite directions.

One coming in from the right and one from the left. I want them to slow down though about 25% of the way in from each side so it can be read then when the reach the mid to quickly move off the screen.

I just started messing with adding new titles so I kinda just screwed around to get to where I've got, so I'm not sure if I'm even doing it right.

I did look at a tutorial that explained how to use "roll" but I think crawl is what I'm needing.

This though just sends the text from one end to the other. Is there a way to control the speed of how fast? so I can slow it down after it reaches a certain point?

and do I have to create two titles to have one coming from the left and the other on the right instead of on one title?

I also don't really understand how to use ease, from my experience with flash I would think it would slow it down at some frame but I can't seem to get any reaction from it whether I use 5 or 5000 ease.

Also is there a way to edit your title after you've exited it?

Help appreciated.

not to sure about how that effect works but I would suggest just using keyframes to animate the titles position

Create what you want in Photoshop or another image editor, import it and put it on a higher video track then keyframe the movement. Lather, rinse repeat.

Well hearing about key frames sounds great since that sounds very familiar to flash, but the issue is I can't figure out how to get to key frames.

I am currently searching for it but all I found was someone mentioning to select the property tab, which i can't seem to find...

Sorry about the double post, is there an edit button?

Um I seem to be able to right click clips, show clip keyframes > motion > position

but I don't know how to manipulate and individual frame on it. Also it doesn't seem to have the show cliip keyframs on a title effect.

By simply changing any value on the clip's properties on frame you're on you create a keyframe (also there's a little diamond shape that does it as well). You simply set the values you want on the frames you want and it folows a linear progression from point to point.
