For The Love Of Gawd People
Select all your damn clips in Premiere, right click on the lil bastards, go to VIDEO > FIELD OPTIONS...and UNCHECK that fuckin box! o_O
This is not complicated...honestly. I just downloaded about a dozen AMVs and every single one of them, LITERALLY, every...single...one...of...them...had blocky, pixelated lookin garbage strewn all about on every single clip that was reduced in speed. Oh hey, guess why! Dee, dee, dee!
*sigh*
...okay I'm done ranting now.

I think this is already in the guides. Somewhere. >.> Just not everybody chooses to do this, and not everybody uses Premier. And a more constructive title might do your topic better, such as "how to turn off frame blending in premier".
Just sayin.
Just sayin.

Check the date of when the amvs were made... I would believe people now mostly use various premiere pro versions, which, by default, blends frames when changing speed... that's not exactly good looking, but does not look as bad as the old versions' deinterlacing either. Also, I say mostly because I think that some old editors still prefer to use 6.x.

*looks at your avatar*Code wrote:I think this is already in the guides. Somewhere. >.> Just not everybody chooses to do this, and not everybody uses Premier. And a more constructive title might do your topic better, such as "how to turn off frame blending in premier".

...why? Why God, why?!
*bangs head against keyboard*
*sigh*
As to what the other guy said...*points up*.
Yeah, they weren't that old. Most of them were made in the past two years. Although maybe I should entertain the notion that maybe some of the creators were just hobbling material off of other AMVs done in the past...that's probably more wishful thinking though on my part. I mean sure, looking at Code's avatar you start praying to whatever God you believe in that he/she didn't ~actually~ do the resizing job on that horrible mess...but the hard slap of reality is that...they likely did do it.
I don't mean to go off on another rant here or anything, but holy keerist, if you haven't even enough sense to figure out the difference between nearest neighbor resizing and...ANYFUCKINGTHING ELSE...yeah...maybe leave the AMV making and graphic design stuff to people who have actually invested more than 38 seconds of effort into learning this shit...I'm just sayin.
Regarding the subject choice...no, no I think this subject works real good actually. It was very purposefully selected for its ability to stand out and draw lots of attention. Sure a different subject might be more ~technically~ correct, but, well as ya said, if this shit is already *IN* the guides...well uh...guess people just aren't gettin the memo, ya know? So let's try it a different way.
In fact, why don't we just devote this whole thread to incredibly stupid shit that amateurs keep doing over and over and over again DESPITE the fact that it's already in the guides...or wherever. Have ya got a rant? Go ahead, let it loose! This is the thread to do it in!

No, there's a similar setting in every version of pro from the first through CS3 at least... In CS3 it's an inline option when you right click on a clip called Frame Blend. You need to do this to every video file in your import box though.mirkosp wrote:Check the date of when the amvs were made... That's what I said, just frame blending != deinterlacing.BasharOfTheAges wrote:No, there's a similar setting in every version of pro from the first through CS3 at least...
