you're going to have to re-encode your footage.
if you don't have a lot of space, I reccomend making small clips in virtualdub/mod and re-encoding those instead of entire episodes.
you should use a lossless codec like lagarith or huffyuv
and you really should buy the dvds (if avaliable in your area), you'll get better quality and some other good things too

There are lots of places to buy anime DVDs online too. Your quality will be sooo much better with DVDs.

Thx for all the advice for timing i went off sound waves in the audio desplay which got alot harder as i went on the song lol. Unfornciatly, i cant aford dvd's right now,ill have to stick with raw downloads until i can aford them. I do have quite alot of space on my computer, about 100GB left in total. What should i convert them to? anything particular?
