Why don't you reinstall it, make sure you unistall all of it first. Then test it out with some uncompressed audio and uncompressed video. If you don't know what I'm talking about it wont take long to research it but to give you a helping hand try uncompressed RGB or huffyuv, and for the audio perhaps a wav file. As long as you don't move any of the files that you have been previously working with then the project you've done should still work but don't test it until you have tried in the formats or some other uncompressed format that has been suggested.

Ok once you've done that post what happens and we will take it from there...
